I wonder why the Chief Justice, Georgina Wood, would pick Justice Atugba as president of the SC of the ongoing petitioners case. Even though Justice Atugba might be the most senior amongst the panel, should this position be given in order of seniority instead of some who is conscientious and will dispense justice without FEAR or FAVOUR? To be fair to him, Justice Atugba initially started with objectivity and fairness but getting to the close of Tsikata's cross-examination he seem to be showing a lot of bias in his decisions. When Tsikata insulted Addison by his famous "will you shut up?" all that Justice Atugba could say is that the attacks are "even now" instead of reprimanding Tsikata. Now he knew very well Tsikata is telling lies about the boxes to be audited yet never asked Tsikata to prove his unsubstantiated allegation which is in fact a lie.The NPP may be proved right when they initially expressed some concern of Justice Atugba being in charge of the proceedings because he is related to one Dr. Atugba at the office of John Mahama. Justice Atugba's gradual and subtle gravitation to favour John Mahama will not wash because the other Justices have independent minds and cannot be cowered to toe his sycophantic, nepotic and 'northern brotherhood' line of mindset.

When he was preparing us write MSLC, he told to write our composition such that, the examiner would be looking for more to read. But there would be none.

And we can only blame an inconsistent and incoherent Atuguba. I am not sure how a man like that managed to rise to the level of a judge of the SC. But then, once upon a time, there was a Ho magistrate judge called Kpegah who was promoted above his betters before the end of PNDC rule "so there would be an Ewe at the higher echelons of the judiciary." I would not be suprprised if this Atuguba guy got a similar treatment.

If this petition ends in trouble for Ghana, there will be no other person but Atuguba, to blame for it.
