Look at your ministers and those leading you. they have too much to eat and drink, so they cant think. Ghana is lost completely. Go to Kantamto and tell them this story and see if they would not lynch you.

  An overwhelming majority of Ghanaians still live in abject poverty.So I do not know where and how the term " middle class " applies here.I think it will take a whole generation for the country to see a segment of the population designated as " middle class.

Only high interest rates and nobody knowing who really owns the land is slowing building...30 year home loans in usa are 3.4% and loan on my truck for 6 years is 5%

  I think the term "middle class" is misplaced term, even in the western world. I don't think that there is any middle class. In the western world some of these middle class people are drowning in credit card debt. Cheap credit supports the notion of middle class. I call the middle class the "working poor" and many of us are!
  
  In my opinion there is only the poor and the rich!
  
  The article highlights the problems we have in the whole of Africa. It is well written and it touched on some pertinent questions relative to Ghana. However, it does not elaborate what the solution to the problem is. A follow-on article is desired!

As we hurtle towards midle income status(?), i can attest a lot of us folks are getting left behind, no jobs for the youth/under employment for our parents and older siblings,"wanna-buys", want to stay in a slick apartment with a rooftop pool too" mentality in abundance, is it any wonder the level of "debauchery" keep creeping up. Some real leadership needed URGENTLY
