I thought this man is a star in electoral laws. What is "unidentified matirial" is it in EC manual on election? This is very funny, the presiding officer also counted the unidentified and identified and recorded the number.

The answer he gave makes big sense. Only foools like this journalist would not get it. Ballot papers are marked with stamps and other identifiable features. So simple take off the foreign materials ? As simple as that.

You are rather the one with simplistic mind. If you have foreign materials in excess of the ballot cast you inspect all and identify the right ones and discard the wrong ones. You do so my identifying the stamp on each. If each has a stamp you cross check the stamp numbers. Parliamentary ballot papers sometimes mistakenly find themselves in presidential ballot boxes so you remove them. You also can check all the serial numbers of all the ballot papers against the range of bullot papers serial numbers for the pooling station and eliminate the wrong ones. If it happens to be ballot papers with the same serial numbers in there, then you discard those particular ones. There are many more ways of removing them instead of the lazy approach of canceling all the ballots in that Pooling Station. Are we serious at all in the country, just annulling votes of citizens who spent hours in lines to cast their legitimate votes with this kind of lazy approach? General Mosquito is dame right. If the ballot are more than those registered to vote then obviously there is over voting.

When did we coin the term unidentified materials? It is more votes than what it should be and the EC law stipulates that, you don't fish out for ballots with stamps on the back since some voters were given ballot paers without any stamps on the back. The moment you have more Presidential votes in a box than ballot issued, the votes at that polling station is discarded and the EC discarded four polling stations without fishing for ones with stamps or without stamps, you dunderhead.

From the unaccredited audience analogy which is akin to the massive irregularities, omissions, statutory violations etc, etc, just like he said this afternoon, the EC would take out the unaccredited audience, in this case, the irregularities, omissions, statutory violations, as per his logic, which would be perfectly legal to do, and the true results and verdict would be announced. We hope the 1st, 2nd and 3rd respondents would not scream that, it's illegal, because, from his Asiedu Nketiah's logic, the unwanted or fake unaccredited audience need not be there, so the court would oblige and grant him his request...Idiot.

The checking of foreign materials is done by inspecting the ballot booklet before polls to ensure no sheets are torn out, then after polls if what u are describing as over voting occurs, then, 1. you must check each ballot for the EC stamp and the stamp number for that p station 2. check serial numbers of ballot, 3. check signature of polling assistant. So if you decide to sent illiterates as party agents can u blame anybody?

Are you suggesting that the sorting out of the various categories of ballots should be done now, or was the exercise done prior to the declaration of the results?

Moreover with the so much tension on election day, do you think the electoral officers have time to cross check all the stamped and unstamped ballot papers.His analogy does not make sense. if you can identify the odd one out then you can take it out. But in this case it is very difficult to determine whether the extra ballots were for Mahama or Akuffo Addo. That is why the law says it should be annulled.

My regard for NPP lead counsel disappeared with his start of cross-examination. Everything about Addison is neophytic. The guy will deliberaately stare at Asiedu Nketiah eyeball to eyeball as if to intimidate him but Asiedu kept laughing at these antics. Mosquito is doing very well and Addison can not match him. Mosquito answers and educates Addison on election processes. I do not think that the NPP legal team has the know how of elections before handling this case. They should better advise the petitioners that the case is not good.

Justice, you have mis-fired and you need to see Asiedu Nketiah for some more lectures of the voting system in Ghana.

Asiedu's point is that it is possible to have a scenario of the Pink sheet stating that 100 ballots were issued but 110 were counted in the ballot box.

His position is that such a scenario can only result from a mistake and there can be several ways to resolve this mistake.
1) The actual number of ballots issued can be re-checked and that could be done by re-checking the ballots papers which have not been used. Or checking the number of people verified to vote by the Biometric machine. Or by checking the number of people who actually voted from the register and or from the count of the Agents (the agents have their own count sheets)
2) The ballots could be re-checked by turning the back of each of them to ensure that they are signed and stamped at the polling station (Those not signed or stamped will be removed)

3) The serial number of each ballot can be checked to confirm that they are in the series issued to the polling station. (Those with wrong serial numbers or duplicated serial numbers can be taken off and investigated)
4)The pink sheet itself can be checked for errors in addition, transposition, ommissions,etc
5) It appears Justice need to see Asiedu Nketia for more tutorials
