  I remember when i was a kid, we used to sell water in a bucket and served with cups. You could hardly find plastic wastes then and we had the cleanest of environments. We were also taught in school not to throw litter on the streets.Later the blow plastic came(inflating plastic and filling it with water and tying it). These were all phases of our development. We are now in the sachet water era and this too by natural law should phase away.We have been in this sachet water phase for well over a decade now and it is time to phase that off and go into bottling water in plastic bottles. These bottles are easily reusable and collection of these used bottles will itself create huge employment for the youth and school children and keep our environment clean. On one of my jogging i decided to count the number of plastic wastes around and 60% of these were made up of water sachets, 30% by the black plastic carrier bags while the rest (10%)was made up of candy wrappers. The same technology been used for the sachet water can be applied in bottling. We should have factories which will produce abundance of the bottles so the water should not be anymore expensive than the present sachet water.In place of the plastic carrier bags, paper bags should be used as these are biodegradable and recyclable.

  Yes Rawlings led by example, Kuffour led by chop-chop and how to jump on air-planes, Atta Milss did his best to restore sanity and now John Mahama poised to recover Ghana from Filth but he needs time and our support.

  Lack of cleanliness in Ghana is a primary indicator of a failed society.Just take the precision,complexity and mental prowess it takes to build a simple radio and you'll find Ghanaians are hopeless because cleanliness is one of the easier things to do but even that for Ghana becomes unachievable.A society tha can't cut it in cleanliness has no chance competing in a world of cutting edge hightech.
