The story goes thus: Handsome but average earner Afari Gyan had a crush on a first year Art student in Volta Hall. Late one Wednesday evening, affluent William Akuffo Addo was driving down to campus after socializing with his crooks at Circle when he espied this beautiful lass buying bread at Okponglo junction. He straight away recognized her as Afari's newfound girl, so he stopped to give her a lift. As Akuffo dropped this girl at the potters' lodge at Volta hall, Afari was emerging from the south wing, lost in thought as to the whereabouts of his girl who had promised to wait for him at the potters' lodge but was nowhere to be found when he arrived about half an hour ago. When Afari spotted his girl walking away from Akuffo's white VW Beetle, he flew into a temper and accused the girl of being a cheat. A big argument ensued between the roommates, and Afari promised to get his own back one day.
I am not sure whether this is the day Afari had been waiting for or not! But, Mr Maggie, what will roommate allegiance do in the face of a couple of million dollars and a mansion in Texas, US of A? Being roommates is nowhere in the equation to determine over-voting, excess votes or foreign material! If being room mates for two to three years at university ever matters, then what would you say about a couple who marry for 10 years say, have two children and then decide to divorce? The two had been room mates, too and even more than that, but if you meet such people in court, they would tear each other apart just for the custody of the children, let alone the property they own together. So forget about that diversion Tsatsu conjured. It was mere comedy!

Do not forget that Nana Akuffo Addo himself first mentioned his relationship with Dr Afari Gyan at his last rally in Accra before the elections.
Nana said he knew Dr Gyan well, and that they had been room mates at Legon. Nana Addo was implying that he trusted Dr Gyan to deliver a fair election result.
This makes it all the more difficult to understand the vilification of Dr Gyan by NPP supporters and the party hierarchy after the elections.

It remains obvious that there definitely were errors in the filling of the pink sheets and those could be translated as either "clerical errors" (NDC/EC) or "irregularities" (Nana/Bawumiah/Jake) Now, if such errors occurred in many more polling stations than the 11842 cited by the petitioners (and I'm more than sure this was the case), would it be truthful and morally correct on the part of the petitioners to select only suitable polling stations and demand annulment of votes only in those stations so that the remainder would give a count favouring Nana Addo?
I honestly can't believe the EC staff in the remaining 14000+ polling stations were any better and would have understood if the petitioners had demanded an election re-run. Unfortunately, the relief(s) being sought by the petitioners sound very immoral and can only be seen as wanting to cut corners and end up winners on legal technicalities.
