Duplicate serial number pink sheets should not have different polling agents, different polling station codes, different polling station names, different presiding officers. This argument is that of an intellectual midget. Show me actual duplicate serial numbers on the ballots which go into the ballot box and affect the actual count and I will say you have a case.

In any case, once some voters were registered twice, You and I cannot be sure whether some voters managed double voting. By the way it is only EC that has been mandated to oversee elections in Ghana, so it behoves EC to ensure free and fair elections.

All your explanation was with regard to the manufacturer and not the end user. What significance has a serial number got to do on a plate when am using it to eat? You are sounding so simplistic and myopic to tickle yourself and laugh. Afari Gyan clearly said those serial numbers were meant for the printers to easily know the number they have printed in order to satisfy their contract, so if they decide to produce same serial numbers on pink sheet it's their own problem. They need to find a way of determining the number printed. Electoral commission if short of pink sheets can photocopy a blank pink sheet to produce more because serial numbers are of no significant part of their tracking system, simple and short.

  Otherwise--if matters can be complicated if the printer's serializing is flawed. Using serial numbers from "wayside" printers will give too much power to the printers.
  
  So using Badu's logic--what happens if the printer is "secretly" afiliated with NPP or NDC? Can they printer then use his serializing on the pink sheets to manipulate the elections or create chaos?
  
  Badu, you analogy is wrong. The printer can also make mistakes.

In addition the pink sheets are distributed randomly and with regards to swapping it does not matter the seriel numbers are the same or not. Pls think deeply u will realized that issue with regards to same seriel numbers has no basis.

If in the wisdom of the EC authorities, that was what they considered to be safest,how do you come out to spew this nonsense.
  
  It is high time you people come out with something concrete to show that the election was not fair and transparent and that it was fraught with irregularities but you have failed to do that so far.What you are trying to do is to use some of the articles to cast doubt on the integrity of the elections.It may satisfy your gullible supporters but not informed Ghanaians.We want the facts not this irresponsible approach with the aim of causing mayhem.

  I think Badu's analysis has been misconstrued. I share the author's sentiments; serial numbers act as counting mechanism. Some people are with the view that the polling stations have names so it is ok, but I disagree in the sense that the codes and names of the polling stations don't give the primary quantity of the documents, the serial numbers can assist us in this instance.

My question to you is how is the important of the manufacturer's serial number to the consumer? Definitely none. This is why your comparison of serial number on the voters pink sheet does not mean anything to the EC.It neither help to identify a polling station nor verify the validity of individual voters vote. To borrow Bawumia's own word its a "MERE" number which has no effects on a presidential voter's vote hence does not require an annulment of a voter's vote of a registerd voter who has gone through all requirements to cast his vote as required by our constitution.

  The serial number could give the number of sheets it contain, and anything describe serial means it is generated from a number line which must be a whole number integer, running linearly or progressively. If a book let containing these numbers are distributed randomly there is not the possibility of duplication. Each polling station has its own presiding officer. One booklet may be found in Accra and the same serialized booklet could be found in Sekondi, how can these 2 people know themselves and arranged to swapped the figures. What do you really take Ghanaians for? Elections results are counted publicly so what does the serial number which does not take into account the serial number on the pink sheet become a court case. Same people who alledged padding of figures and faxed numbers changing now ran away from all those allegations. Get it

  You seems not to be listening to what was said. No one is saying serial numbers are useless but that when it come to the 'pink sheet', they have no such thing as serial number but rather code number. also that even if these codes are serial numbers at all, their duplication or non duplication must not be allow to nullify the results of a genuinely cast vote of voters. Unless one can prove that those duplicated serial numbers are bearing the same signatures and code names where ever they appear, there is no significant , in fact to be attached to then in Ghana's election for now.

If indeed, the serial number bears no significance, why did the EC embosse on the pink sheets in the first place? Well, duplications of serial numbers may not have any bearings on the elections results, but, the big question is, why use them if they are not relevant?
  
  Of course, polling code names are part of identification. However, serial numbers check the quantum of the sheets printed or in the system. Yes, I share the author's sentiments, serial number is a tracking tool.
