I don't have to name any politician but you know them all.
Nobody should allow those politicians to create mayhem in the society for their selfish interest.

United we stand, divided we fall as the saying goes. our unity therefore is very important if we are to stand as one nation.

Kofi, I cannot agree with you more.Ghanaians must unite to save our nation. A nation, a house or a family divided against itself cannot stand. We can have healthy diversity and still be united for our common good.Diversity becomes a problem when it rips us apart and instead of focusing, it diverts attention from more important national goals. That's defeatism.
Over politicization and the myopic tribalization of national issues can have polarization's dire consequences.
Whilst political pluralism is good in the sense that it acknowledges diversity, care must be taken so it's implimentation doesn't become unnecessarily diversionary or reactionary, thus rendering it a hindrance to progress and development instead of harnessing it into a partner.
There's too much political and tribal polarization in the country for our own good.In Ghana, though the election cycle is every 4 years the reality is that everyday is considered a campaign day and the day after is the election.Unbridled political partisanship is sawing the nation asunder but we seem to be oblivious of the fact.
The same can be said of the tribal divide. In the early 1980s there were rumors of the intended creation of certain tribal hegemonies and more recent political discourses tend give credence to the fears and concerns of some of us.
Much as I recognize that such a development is ominous for the national cohesion and stability I've often pondered why the proponents of such narrow minded and destabilizing agendum ever believe tribal hegemony could co-exist within the national context.
My conclusion is that the existence of too much inequality and disorder in the national system is the cause of all the fears of insecurity and instability. A nation that fails to guarantee equal rights, equal opportunities and equal justice to all of its citizens regardless of their tribal or political affiliation has set itself on the slippery downward slope that leads to the valley of death and destruction.
I expect whoever is the president at any point in time to begin the process of unifying the nation from the day of his inauguration and help heal the wounds if there are any resulting from the political activities.Cronyism, favoritism, marginalization, political and tribal vendetta, sycophancy, corruption must all be tackled head on and every citizen must feel a sense of belonging. We must pass anti- discrimination laws and make our nation a more friendly environment not just to the citizens but to all foreign nationals who live among us or are visiting for one reason or the other. Long live a united and democratic Ghana.
