This writer has not told us the number of lifes lost, the property destroyed, the social, economic and political cost of the Buipe conflict. How much is Ghc 300,000 compared with just one human life? Assuming without admitting that HE JDM 'bribed' or 'bought' the chiefs to bring piece to Buipe so be it, it is an exercise worth its while. I wish we could buy peace in Dagbon, Alavanyo/Nkonya, Hohoe, Gbeshie, Ga, Wenniba, Nankpaduri and of course all conflict areas in Ghana or even the world over in a similar fashion.

Are you not by your statement encouraging corruption when it's no longer a secret that widespread corruption is the major cause of our nation's economic woes? Peace negotiated through bribery is fragile and not sustainable. What kind of pandora box do we open when the President decides to bribe some recalcitrant chiefs for peace? And who should foot the bill? Not with my money.
It's is a bad precedence. Very soon the entire nation would be engulfed in chieftaincy disputes and we will have to go globe trotting for lons that we could use for development purposes to bribe uncompromising chiefs who just want to take advantage of a permissive system.
If this is the way you want to go then I'd suggest each year the government allocate a development budget for each region based on population size then you feud loving guys can use your portion to settle chieftaincy disputes. We cannot use our scarce national resources to settle and support such stupid stupidity. After initiating an overly expensive fee free education for the north the rest of the country is in no mood to to waste scanty resources to settle disputes. Peace is first desired and then each party works to attain that peace and when it's attained the parties work assiduously to maintain and sustain that peace. It does not come on the platter of bribery.

remember u have made some revelation as if they are the end result to the buipe chieftancy dispute, there are several gates to the claim of buipewura, namely gbedese gate ,kokontey gate chinchanko gate and many others, buipe is not only about jinapor and lebu,so it is important to know that the yegbowura erred in his quick nomination of lebu without the consent of the other gates, remember also after the reign of jinapor it is not automatic for lebu gate to succeed the gates are there and we will see what will come out of it ,lets pray, even if the president was involved it is a good thing to do first, however if u know the history of buipe succession very well there has never been a free and transparent succession in buipe since time immemorial, and this will not been the lasts so lets sing praises rather than criticizing people who lay the right eggs for peace, may be u will be surprise to see missionary in buipe the next time, because people were taken by surprise and now we all know what it takes we get prepared for it.ask very well u will be told.

These re bare facts except others. The writer might have done some thorough investigation to unravel all the details espouse in this article. We re our own enemies and must refrain from stabbing from the back. But one good thing the writer acknowledges is that, there is an ample peace in the area which is the paramount thing Ghana needs. Its sustainability must be allowed and not questioned as they are general to the world just as they are in the Buipe traditional area.

We're just learning that in seeking the cooperation of hardnosed Gonja chiefs a lot of money and a number of cars were allegedly given as inducement and none other than the President is said to have been in the center of this sordid tale. Is the President accountable to anyone and if he is who keeps tabs on him? The office of the president has a lot of contitutional authority but is the presidential blank check an inference from the contitution?
If the monetary and vehicular inducement reported in the Gonja chieftaincy dispute settlement is credible then the president knows the identity of all the party 'goers' who "ate the meat to the bone".People, don't we need from the president a full disclosure of the identity of the party goers whose voracious appetite left no meat on the bones? At any time, whether in economic austerity or prosperity should the President of the Republic of Ghana (POTROG) spend money with reckless abandon and without parliamentary approval. The national economy has been flatlining uninterruptedly for several years because POTROG assumes a blank check authorization in spending our money. What's parliament going to do about this blatant abuse of executive powers? Nothing? What about the people of Ghana whose livelihoods are affected daily by official recklessness and abuse of contitutional authority? Nothing? If the answers to both questions is 'do nothing' then we must brace ourselves for an unsustainable and excruciating economic meltdown. Who is POTROG accountable to? The Parliament's oversight responsibilities over every expenditure should overlap with the responsibilities and authorities of the Executive branch.
