If we don't take our destiny in our own hands no one ever will. The state institutions are part of the problem and they cannot be trusted to do a clean job.

  The article is very good but it's not perfect. Our job is not to puncture holes in it which course will avail us nothing but to take the good in it and use it for our dvelopment purposes.

  What did govt functionaries do,or not do that gave rise to these payments in the first place? People should pay attention to some of the horrendous revelations coming out of the hearings of the Sole Commissioner of Judgement Debts so as to appreciate the enormity of this canker! Many of the people who have now jumped onto Martin Amidu`s bandwagon,have been 'architects' of the problem. Because of their inordinate greed,caution was thrown to the wind,and contracts,MOUs,financial arrangements,call it any name you want,were simply turfed out,so new kickbacks could be extorted from 'new players'.
  I find it rather strange that Kwabena Bomfeh did not see the need to offer any word of encouragement to the 5 comerades of his party who are also before the SC seeking to recover state assets, worth billions of dollars, that were given away to Vodafone Plc under very strange circumstances. The sale of GT predates 'Woyomegate',so how come it is taking such a long period of time to dispose of the matter while Vodafone Gh rakes in huge profits for its parent company? I will hope the SC will have the same courage to restore to the poeple of this country, vital national assets that should never have been on 'auction' to one particular buyer!

  The VODAFONE, KOSMOS and EO Group issues are there. VODAFONE is said to have bought Ghana Telecom for 99 years and that Ghana can not repossess her company until 2106. KOSMOS refused to sell its shares to the people of Ghana and even some members of the NPP supported them. EO Group stole the research work of GNPC and took money for that and the that group is supported by NPP members.

  The huge mismanagement and misappropriation issues we're encountering did not creep up on us. We're neighbors to these pen robbers but so far we've remained apathetic to our own cause. Where are the police officers, state attorneys and state prosecutors? What are the state institutions doing that were set up to protect the assets of the state and prosecute those who cause damage or loss to state assets?
  The problem we face is the result of flagrant over centralization and politicization of state institutions. We'd be doing ourselves a lot of good if we can take politics out of it now because this is really convoluted. It's a culmination of factors that are deep rooted.
  By the constitution, directors of state institutions are appointed by the President.There has to be a modification because most of the appointments are politicaly motivated. Their loyalty is not to the state but to the hirer.Going forward it should not be rocket science to maintain a checks and balances approach so we can keep the tabs on everything and everybody.
  Is it not mind boggling that after all the public hue and cry about the huge dubious judgement debt payments no heads rolled,there were no prosecutions and no one served time in jail? In spite of their horrendous crimes, Mr Ebo Barton-Odro is 1st Deputy Speaker of Parliament and a member of the African Parliament whilst Mr Samuel Neequaye-Tetteh crawled back surreptitiously when no one was watching. Mr Neequaye is now playing the role of Chief State Attorney and eyeing the Solicitor General's job. How can we be so reckless and unmindful? What does this say about us? What about our Presidents?It appears they do not give a damn about us. They wont do their job so, we the people, would have to roll our sleeves and get to work. Let partisan politics take the back bench for once whilst we take care of our nation's business.It's about the survival of our dear nation. Together we'll "chase the crazy bald heads out of town".
  And let the party apparatchiks stop telling us about equally bad things that happened in Kuffuor's time.We acknowledge that equally bad things happened in the past but should we spend precious time raking the past and take our eyes off the ball? Remember,the criminals working against the state never take a vacation. They're workaholics. We cannot afford to take lightly today's duty as it hangs precariously before us nor should we pass over today's pressing needs just to get even with yesterday's mindless malevolence.If we do nothing today we'll live to regret our inaction. We already regret the inactions of yester years.Lets get together people.Our presidents do nothing to uncover their bed fellows.Lets take care of our business.

The overoting, double serial numbers, voting without BVR, absence of presiding officers' signatures and other malpractices etc were their modus operandi. This the reason I personally believe in the case before the SC. When we get it right at the SC then we can be very sure Ghana has hope. Martins vindication and for that matter Ghana's victory at the Supreme Court is a harbinger of good tidings for this country. If we miss that dadi da, it will be serious for us.

Who gave them the Osagyefo barge? You man Kuffour. All the stadia were built without the contract going to parliament. We are also wide awake. We will not stand for any stupidity.
