All those implicated in this Waterville saga are university graduates. If this had occurred in the 70s we would have been quick to say it is because the military guys were not well educated. Today e have university graduates every where yet the mess we are witnessing in our midst is too gargantuan. This is how far our useless university education has brought us.

Ghana must be a trusted and respected client and not a client that will use her court to refuse to honour her obligations.
We caution all those who are now shouting from the roof tops with joy that we use the courts, our courts and not another to refuse to honour an obligation we had with a foreign company.
We brought Ghanaians mind to the fact that it was the same courts that seized the Argentine War Ship because a British company that that country owes went to insure the debt.
I am one of those who abide by an agreement I have with any body and I do not stab my client at the back.

I can be glad for Ghana for thinking Ghana won one but it will be just a hollow victory. For all who think Martin Amidu has done wonders I say enjoy while you can and then take time to reflect on how we got to the start of judgment debts in Ghana. What Ghana's Supreme Court justices addressed in their ruling was the narrow definition of a contract between the government of Ghana and vendor/contracted entities based on existing statute. However, international law which these Justices lack, most of them anyway, recognizes verbal agreements in some instances for which the Waterville case come down to. It was a government representative who agreed with workers from Waterville to move their heavy equipment and start work on the Accra stadium prior to an official contract being signed. For that matter, I say why did Martin Amidu not challenge the so-called contract that paid the Chinese company to finish the rest of the stadia project since by law it is only Ghana's parliament, a the government arm for engaging in a contract? The stadia contracts with those Chinese firms were awarded by then president Kufour and not parliament. Were those not violations of the statute?
