Which SC in this world would annul the 2012 election results with the evidence presented? Even with 6 months to analyse only 11,000 polling stations the petitioners have made monumental errors, how about the EC having to supervise voting in 26,000 polling stations, count the votes and collate the results in just 3 days!!! Surely there were minor errors here and there but none of them affected the votes actually counted. TEC deserves our highest commendations!

Just tell me, how could the results be affected if the Presiding Officer did not sign the pink sheets, or serial numbers on pink sheets are not in sequence? Let's not stretch politics too far and render this country an pleasant place to live in. Even if there is no war, this twisting and turning of facts just to score political points on technical grounds reduces our quality of life.

It is sad the Petitioners are demanding their pound of flesh from the EC and yet want to receive their reward with very unclean hands. Even the fact that NDC has 30 parliamentary seats more than NPP means it was not possible for Nana to beat the NDC candidate.

So after losing at the polls Nana wants to win on technicalities at the SC? May be the wee is deceiving him.

I strongly suspect that NPP think that they have majority of the supreme court judges on their side hence their stance. All available evidence suggests that the NPP lost the election. Why is NPP not requesting for the recounting of the votes but only relying on technicalities? Isn't it possible that prior to the elections NPP intentionally asked some presiding officers belonging to the party to refuse to sign the pink sheets so that in case they lost the elections they could make a case of it? I think that the supreme court can facilitate their judgement by going through all the pink sheets of the election and remove (or accept) all pink sheets in which there's a single error; not only those selected by the petitioners but every pink sheet from all the polling stations. It is only on this basis that both parties involved in the court case will be satisfied.

I agree with you that the NDC has 30 more MPs than the NPP. I have also told a lot of people that, even for Nana to be declared President, he would become a LAME DUCK President. This is because the NDC dominated-majority parliament will choke off every agenda of Nana Addo.
But I would like to stress that the NPP could still win the Presidency as voting for the Presidency is different from the Parliamentary vote. So someone can vote for the Presidential candidate of the NPP and the NDC MP of the area.
So lets us wait and see. Lets not be tribalistic. This should not bring civil war. Ghana is bigger than NPP or NDC. Ghana Security Services will maintain PEACE and LAW and ORDER. LONG LIVE GHANA AND MAY GOD BLESS GHANA

If anything at all, the verdict will confirm the EC,s declaration, consolidate President Mahama,s position and power, with Akufo Addo vanishing into total oblivion. And what a sight will that be? Adofo, one thing is certain! And that is, Presidents are not appointed by judges but elected by the people. In my candid opinion, i would have wished NPP had placed an injunction on declaration of the Presidential results by the EC until the petition is resolved at Supreme Court. Now, we have the election of a President(Mahama) fully gazzetted, whose investiture as President was performed by no other person than the Chief Justice, then comes along Akufo Addo saying no, he wants over 4.6m innocent voters anulled so he could become President. At any rate, i believe the judges will find this task as coming from people who could not take election defeat lightly and lost all sense of human thinking and because they could not all by themselves commit mass suicife, are therefore pleading with the judges to carry it on their behalf. In any event, the train had already left Akufo Addo on the platform. It,s next destination is the polling stations in 2016. For now, it,s goodbye to Nana. The Commander In Chief Of The Ghana Armed Forces, HE President John Dramani Mahama is in the saddle and moving Ghana forward.

Ghanaians should be told frankly what the popular vote is and stand for. Let them understand popular vote is when all the votes of the whole country is counted and the person who has more votes win.
If somebody in Paga says we all votes for John and for that reason he is the president. They are very wrong, how many people live in Paga compare to kumasi.

I think Rockson Adofo has nothing to do with his time. The NPP admitted they mislabelled or misfiled their11842 pink sheets and blamed the error on SHEER VOLUME OF WORK! BUT they expect the EC not to make any mistake in 26002 polling stations. WHAT ABSURDITY!

Bear in mind that the EC is also accussed by the NPP of delibrating aiding the NDC and have a look at the chapter 8 section 64 and 65
64.

(1) The validity of the election of the President may be challenged only by a citizen of Ghana who may present a petition for the purpose to the Supreme Court within twenty-one days after the declaration of the result of the election in respect of which the petition is presented.

(2) A declaration by the Supreme Court that the election of the President is not valid shall be without prejudice to anything done by the President before the declaration.

(3) The Rules of Court Committee shall, by constitutional instrument, make rules of court for the practice and procedure for petitions to the Supreme Court challenging the election of a President.

The Electoral Commission shall, by constitutional instrument, make regulations for the purpose of giving effect to article 63 of this Constitution.
these shows the Supreme court does not declare a president but the EC and since the EC have been implicated a new one have to be set up by the recomendation of the court because the contitution demands its appointment by the president and the office of the president cannot be left vacant

I believe we have to ask ourselves why we vote? If we all agree on the importance of voting then if anything at all, the people of Ghana should be allowed to re-vote again when the Supreme court rules that the wrong winner was declared. Because the issues at hand are mathematical and petty errors on the parts of temporary hirees of the EC and agents of the political parties.

My honest recommendation, when it is found out that there were errors that really will affect the declaration, ANOTHER ELECTION SHOULD BE HELD.

His statement is based on superficial observation of issues and he does not allow anybody to express his views or choose his side. He has his mind made and therefore such a person cannot be given any credibility and respect.

The way he writes makes me believe that he is part of those people who will not abide by the court ruling if it is not in their favour. In fact he is more tribalistic, more educated illiterate, more selfish than all the people he is accusing of being bought by the President Mahama. He does not know anything except anarchy, free hatred, tribalism and pure opportunism. He is dreaming to get a position under Nana Akufo=Addo's eventual presidency. That won't be in this century but when he will come back into life in 2000 years ahead.
