  When you have people who are not trained managing affairs in Ghana, you will surely increase corruption. We should always know that education is not the same as training. We should also remember that General Amidu, the apostle of probity and accountability, always boast of his 15years experience as a deputy minister because that was when he was mentored and trained. How many of our useless university graduates are patient enough to be mentored? This is what causes corruption.

  i think you should lead a crusade and call for signatures of persons willing to stand against corruption and to have all theses corrupt officials punished appropriately

  Corruption in government or any large organization is impossible to completely stop. But in politics the president can make a statement and policy that zero tolerance in their administration is the policy. That BNI will investigate and prosecute anyone found doing so to the max of the law. Then enforce his policy.

  Mr. Adjei-Brenya, unfortunately your wish to defeat corruption in Ghana at this point in time is an impossible mission. The whole nation seems to be involved in corrupt practises, thus the loud silence whenever the topic is raised. The corruption seems to be endorsed by the political leadership which is not exempt from shady dealings. Only few people are sincere and passionate about curbing corruption because nearly everone is involved. If you try any active moves to reduce corruption in Ghana, you will end up being the one punished. See Amidu and Atta-Mills/NDC fracas. That country is racing to become a failed state. I see you live in a country where institutions aremainly functional. Thank your stars and forget about Ghana in this respect. Oman no bor ye akye. Sorry but I have to say it this bluntly. No chance to change anything because it is accepted in the land where one does not go to the ahenfie empty handed. So if you want any service to be provided, do something. America asei wo.

  I share your righteous idignation. Unfortunaely, however, unless those of us who share your anger get together to join up with the few "Amidus" around, the canker of corruption is going to get a lot worse, especially now that there is oil production in Ghana.
  
  Already, the Minister of Finance dipped his hand in the Petroleum Revenue Account, to support his leaking budget last year, without recourse to Parliament. That is a bad omen.
  
  There is a proverb in Akan which literallly means "When fish rots it begins from the head". The frightening corruption that is endemic in Ghana today is right from the top. The President and his now vice, were the two people in charge of the economic fortunes of the country when those disguting sums were paind to individuals and companies for doing absolutely nothing. The highly inflated aircraft purchases land at the feet of one John D Mahama, and so are the Nkomfem and tree planting fiascos.
  
  Ebo barton-Odro was the deputy Attorney-General who supervised the payment of those monies, and even after the stinker broke out, he was still appointed as Deputy Speaker of Parliament and actually headed the committee that "vetted" the nominated appointees.
  
  When you have a situation like that, what hope in hell does Oman Ghana have to ever rid itself of corruption?
