  The recent disgraceful escapades of Nana Konadu contesting the party leadership and throwing mud all over the place should not go unmentioned in this momment of taking stock and conducting a thorough introspection in order to set the party back on course as the true NDC and not the corrupted version we've see in the recent past. The group in the party leadership who have done their hardest to position the NDC as a through-bred of the NPP, must be emphatically and thumpingly stopped. Mahama must tell them enough, they've had their day in the sun. They put the NDC on a political rollerskates, fast skidding down the gutter. Mahama must weed them out without delay. The NPP corruption,'bigmanship'and bombast as a political modus operandi, was fast creeping into the NDC. It was beginning to look like a sister party of NPP. To the extent that, like the NPP, people who raised their voices against the rot were hounded into silence. With the NDC aping the leadership style of the NPP, one had cause to begin to despair. Our rapid development which our great human,natural resources and demography should almost guarantee would be stalled. Or at best would be grindingly and painfully slow. Ghana will be going no where fast.Mahama needs to get the true dynamism instilled by the founder of the party back into it.Let not this opportunity for Ghana's progress pass us by. Don't throw it back to the dogs to dismember.

  In 1979 Rawlings knew what every ghanaian knew about the sad state of the national economy and politics. We were headed on the slippery downward slope to self annihilation and something needed to be done. His intimidatory and brute force approach to fighting corruption generated some short attention but it was shortlived, being unsustainable in the long term.It was like applying bandaid to a festering sore. Soon corruption made a big comeback as if to prove that it was an indispensable part of us.
  If you can't beat them you join them so our new kids on the block, the poor Ahwoi brothers, Rawlings, etc., became the nouveaux riches of our poverty stricken nation.Time has not dimmed our memories.The apostles of probity and accountability employed frontmen to acquire assets and wealth to fool us all.They played smart because a repeat of the mistakes of their predecessors whom they had openly condemned and severely punished would have been a disaster for them. For fear of incurring the wrath of the people they had hoodwinked into believing they were saviors they kept the new found wealth under wraps.
  Today Rawlings is reportedly worth $50m according to a publication in the credible New York Forbes Magazine but a perfunctory denial is all he had attempted. Why won't Rawlings sue the magazine in a lawcourt to clear his 'good' name?The truth is he can bark but he can't bite. Remember when Asiedu Nketiah called him the barking dog? He knew Rawlings lost the moral courage in the fight against corruption a long time ago.
  Corruption has become endemic in ghanaian society. In the absence of a vibrant economic activity it has become the new means of economic survival. It's unofficially recognized as the new way of augmenting the decimated income levels for most impoverished ghanaians.For the already rich the motivation is sheer greed.Given the dire circumstances of most ghanaians it'd be easier to assume that fewer than 5 percent of the 24 million population are corruption free.
  As the people, so are their leaders.
  I'm surprised the writer, Henry Kpakpo Allotey, is saying the NDC must rediscover itself through Martin Amidu as if the party just lately got afflicted with the corruption virus.Are NDC members aliens from Mars visiting this part of planet earth called Ghana? The earlier we accept corruption as a national tragedy and malady the better our chances of tackling it headon and finding a comprehensive solution. We can be in self denial and point the accusing finger at someone else's corruption till it degenerates to a permanent feature of ghanaian society.
  As far as the records show Martin Amidu is the only bright spot in the NDC machinery in the fight against corruption.It's a fight worth fighting by all ghanaians because corruption afflicts almost everyone, the president himself included and destroys a big chunk of the economy.

  I said it before that the Victor in the ruling of SC of judgement debts is not Martin Amidu alone but JJ.
  
  JJ is the actual Victor, he has on several times been vindicated. The Kumasi declaration has manifested itself.

  My NDC folks should know that the immense pressure put on the Atta Mills Govt. by JJ is the cause of all these judgment debts saga. JJ was hell bent on revenge of which he termed JUSTICE. When the NPP used the judiciary to jail NDC people, we complained but JJ wanted revenge but the courts served notice that they would not play ball with us so we needed concrete evidence to support convictions and that was hard to get. With the pressure from JJ mounting, we mistakenly felt we could jail the NPP guys using wrongful abrogation of contract and thus causing financial loss. Its a mistake but if we have to punish then lets punish everyone including those who gave the contracts without parliamentary approval, let the NPP be happy, but we know that they also paid Waterville 9M Euros through Consar and Michiletti without parliamentary approval, even the whole Shanghai company that constructed the various stadia worked without parliamentary approval. Why did O.B. Amoah write to Waterville to commence work without parliamentary approval. The NDC has also contrated the Gas project without parliamentary approval.
  Now, Kpakpo, your idol Martin also became AG of Ghana, why didn't he jail the NPP people like what you and your God JJ were pushing. Martin even accused the EO Group of fraudulent and criminal conduct yet could not prosecute them. Why?? Lets be sober in this country and know that JJ is not GOD. I only agree with you that the NPP is a farcist, criminal and a terrorist group but we need concrete evidence to deal with them, without it, lets tolerate their vicious opposition and get on with them like what Atta Mills did

When you have concrete achievement on the ground, those achievemnts will do the effecting talking for you, not propaganda and praise singing nonsense from a court case which many Ghanaians doesn't even understand or find curious with the timing

That was why during Prof. Mills time they could not prosecute a single individual in the NPP even though it was obvious there was massive corruption during the 8 yr rule of the NPP . Unfortunately.   The only self the NDC can rediscover is a self where the President's wife buys state enterprises in the name of an NGO hugely sponsored by government. A self where a corrupt government runs down state enterprises and sells them to its functionaries. That was the true self of the NDC under JJ. When NDC came back to power under Mills and there were no more state enterprises to sell to themselves they invented judgment debts as a new way to loot and plunder state coffers.
  The NDC did not scratch NPP's back. Mills and his babies with sharp teeth failed to successfully prosecute any of Kuffours Minister not for want of trying. You don't go to court with propaganda and mere allegations of corruption. You go with solid facts and hard evidence. That is why NDC failed to pin down any NPP functionary in 4 years of the Mills/Mahama tenure.
