When we have our leaders running to take care of themselves in the UK and forgotten about the masses, why will the masses not seek any opportunity from any Country.
Tell your leader first to solve our problems and the human resources being wasted elsewhere will come back home and develop the Nation.
There is nothing racism about taking care of their borders and immigration. It is only idiots from Africa who believe that our borders should be opened to everyone to come in. They are leaders and have the right to protect the limited resources their country have.

This is a wake up call and I'm glad the Brits have exposed their sycophancy to show their true colors. All they want from us is our wealth. If our leaders are listening, it is about time that we gear up to build our country to provide for our citizenry. Akufo-Addo just came back from the UK for medical check up, the defense minister has just flown in there for similar reasons. The Asantehene I learnt has also bought a mansion over there; and the list goes on. All These wouldn't have happened if we had left Kwame Nkrumah alone. Guys let's bury our partisanship and put the pressure on our leaders to do the right thing. 50 something years is too much for us to be going about begging and looking for jobs in other peoples' land. Let us be brave and strong to demand from our leaders the trust we impose in them to deliver. NDC I AM WATCHING YOU.

Princewilly I am! OMG! That was by far the best satire on Ghanaweb. Will where did get that from?
But seriously, all jokes aside. We have got ourselves to blame. Ghana is by any stretch not a poor country. What this great nation has been lacking is a leader with a mission and a vision. After the demise of Kwame Nkrumah the vacuum left has not been occupied. The soil under feet and above is rich but goes to enrich or the create wealth for the very people who look at us with total disdain or if you will ultimate disrespect. It is high time we muster courage and stand up. We must build our country. In fact Ghana is a paradise but foreign exploitation and self- inflicted cycle of corruption have deprived our people of the basics in life.
In hindsight Kwame Nkrumah has been vindicated many fold. Now do Ghanaians/Africans understand why Ghana broke diplomatic relationship with Britain in 1965? The ball is in our court, we must play hard game with our so called friends and foes alike. Never ever think the Whiteman is going to develop your country for you. Their aim is to keep you underdevelop in order to get your raw materials. The momment we become industrial manufactures like Kwame Nkrumah had hoped they will be on the losing side. The Whiteman or so called investors from the west have only one thing on their mind; their own interest. That is how the maximize their interest with minimum investment. There are two words they use: Aid or Investment. Whichever way you look at it: the same side of the coin - exploitation.
It is now time for Africa to arise and start south –south trade so that the money remains on our continent. Whenever we take our hard earned foreign exchange and go to them and buy unnecessary luxury goods, they get richer and richer and we get poorer and poorer. It is simple arithmetic. The recent BBC documentary WHY POVERTY? STEALING AFRICA is testament to how far the so called investors would go to make profit out of misery. They don’t care about us until we start caring about ourselves.
AFRICA MUST UNITE!

Well, David Cameron has the right to make any stupid and racist decision as and when he likes. It is his right. If for all these years, and with all our resources we would still continue to rely on these criminals who have illigally occupied our country for many hundred of years, inslaved our forefathers, looted our mineral resources to build their economy, then there is something seriously wrong with us. The question some of us kept asking is, what benefit is the British to us? What is it that we get from them so much that David Cameron, that boy could get up and tell us nonsense to embrace homosexuals without a single respect to our traditions and norms? This is the guy again, as usual, displaying his insanity to mother Ghana, which his great grandfathers have looted dried. I wonder what that boy takes himself for.I thought Britain could have had a better person to rule them than this.If this is not insanity, what else is it?
I called on president Mahama to retaliate immediately and in the same appropriate manner without delay.David Cameron is a disgrace to humanity and should be treated as such!He is a tribal bigot. How much did his great grand father deposited when they came down her to loot and enslaved our great grand fathers? David Cameron shame on you dirty bigot! You are a big disgrace to humanity. Ghana will retaliate because we are a sovereign country. Shame on you Cameron!

The decision is purely based on statistics i.e. % who enter the UK and never go back to their native country and staying in the UK illegally. Those guys you are asking to represent Ghana to stop this policy cannot change this stats - it is a fact. The positive thing the Ghana Government can do is to loan this £3000 to any Ghanaian coming to the UK and then get it back when the individual returns. This is more feasible than what you are advocating. Your advice will fall on death ears. Be practical gentleman.

It was Nana Akufo-Addict who caused all these. Nana pretended he was sick and left for London. His main purpose was to organise London Toilet Cleaners Union,Ghana chapter, spearheaded by Rockson Adofo to demonstrate against Prez. Mahama during the World leaders G8 meeting. David Cameron was outraged because they had to use the British police to control the violent toilet cleaners. He then said "guys you better remain in your banana republic" Three thousand pounds visa bond.

There's got to be something wrong with a nation when its youth and intellectuals aspire to leave for other nations in search of a better life. Ghana yearned to be free from the British and we did get our freedom. But the work it takes to be truly independent nation was something we could not handle. Maintaining and sustaining freedom involves sacrifices and at time being dictatorial. In Western nations they were able to use race to relegate minority races to slave status sometimes robbing minorities of their freedoms, dignity and mostly refusing to pay them fair wages for their labor. Once those nations were built up on the backs of slave labor they began to enjoy relative freedoms.
In Ghana we had tribal affiliations to contend with. And when leaders used iron fist to suppress these inward looking tribes for the general welfare of Ghana we collectively overthrew our so-called tyrant Nkrumah. Where are we now in Ghana if after 50+ years of freedom the only things certain about Ghana, its politics and educated elite are bribery, corruption, moral decadence and lack of common sense? We get the kind of youth migration that is making other nations see us as a failed nation. Instead of begging Britain or any other nation to have mercy on us why don't you band of thieves in parliament do what is right and decent for the nation and stop stealing money meant for development?

Dear John, I wish to bring to your attention that Ghana is the most disgraced nation on earth. I was on British airways and there were charity leaflets begging for donations to feed the Ghanain kid. We continue to sell our souls and display a high degree of foolishness to the western world. John, Ghana has all the resources to make us an independent nation yet we still sit for the white man to give us directives and disrespect us. What we lack in Ghana is leadership! Infact you do not understand what they mean by leadership. we lack a leader who can bring back a sense of national pride and unity which are vital if we want to redeem ourselves from bondage and slave mentality. John, how do you feel as a leader when you sit back and watch with pleasure as your ministers send thier wives to the west to give birth? how do you feel when your ministers plunder state funds to send their children to the west to educate them? yet you wonder why the whole ghana including yourself is rushing for a visa to run away. Anyway what can i say, one day the people will RISE and then you will all look back and wonder where we all got it wrong. Was it greed? foolishness, lack of vision or just lack of leadership. Encourage corruption, keep throwing dust in the eyes of the poor kids who have to sit on the floor without shoes to attend classes, watch and smile while people from other countries come to plunder our gold and shoot Ghanaians(chinese galamsay), sell all our oil and leave innocent Ghanaians to perish. One day we shall all swim in the mess. A great man wrote an article titled- "the road to kigali". I suggest you and your ministers read it. I want you to reflect deeply about Ghana and how close we are to Kigali. As for the radio stations, keep talking nonsense, dont create awareness to the people, the day will come when your stations will be used as the mouth piece of angry man eating rebels. " WHEN YOU KEEP STARVING THE POOR, THEY WILL EVENTUALLY BE LEFT WITH NOTHING TO EAT BUT THE RICH"
nb: This article is my personal views and by no means intended to discredit the president of Ghana.

Racist?? This has nothing to do with Racism.. nor discrimination! Its is the pure fact that People from these 6 countries take advantage of the cultural acceptance and diversity in the UK and overstay their visa! Its quite simple, sort your own country out so people dont want to go and find a better life in the UK! What all of you people commenting on here and writing these articles dont realize is the strain that all of these people overstaying their visas puts on the economy in the UK! I am whit, live in Ghana and have done for many years, along with various other african countries! You guys have a beautiful country and i love it here! By seeing the UK from the outside, i see more than people living there do. All they are doing is trying to protect their interests, as would any country in a bad situation. Along with this, i dont think that too many people can read - this only applies to short stay visas.... not study visas, work visas or residence visas! It only applies to the visas that get misused the most - SHORT STAY VISAS!!! IF YOU SAY YOU ARE GOING FOR A HOLIDAY, GO FOR A HOLIDAY, NOT A LIFE TIME AND ABUSE THE GENEROUS SYSTEM THAT THE UK HAS!!!
The simplest way to sum up the above is - these six countries shouldn't have abused the system in the first place. Im not saying it was everyone or is even a high percentage....
One thing i will say is that that the UK is NOT a racist country! Please dont tarnish us with that brush... If it was racist, all of you wouldnt be crying about restrictions on going there!

Every nation has a reserved right to determine who and how many visitors it can accomodate. Britain is bursting out. This is visible in London; hence, this segregational approach to immigrantion. Eventually, other countries in Europe will follow suit. Remember Switzerland, they are also having immigration problems; to the extent that they want to curb the number of Europeans working in their country. That is the extent of the problem. We can't force them. What we can do;
1. Come together and fix our country--change our style. We had the opportunity to follow the Asian Tigers but we were so divided that we decided to listen to France and United States to adopt stupid policies which have brought us back to square one.
2. Stop looking for handout-- take our future in our hands. If the Europeans can do it, why can't we do it?

Ras. Not a bad article but half baked and lacking one major aspect. The UK is rammed packed with Ghanaians. Over 300,000 are already there. Although some are working legally and of benefit to Britain the rest are there simply for financial gain. This includes drug dealers ,gang bangers, 419ers, scammers, NHS fraudsters, welfare fraudsters and various other criminals. Sadly the evidence is insurmountable that a staggeringly high proportion of criminals are illegal immigrants. And even more disturbing is the proportion that are Ghanaian and Nigerian.
The Brits came to Ghana and plundered the country. Ghanians rightfully kicked them out. For the last 30 years Ghanians have been plundering Britain. Those days are over.
Wake up and smell the coffee. Britain is sinking under the weight of all the illegals fleecing the country.
Enough is Enough. The visa bond is one of many more steps coming into place to kick all the illegals out and keep them out.
