Is that why your statesman and hero, Joseph Danquah together with his group designed all efforts to see to it that the Akosombo dam would not come to exist? What is the purpose of your article? Is it just to show off without any meaning behind it? You failed to include the list of the "books" you have penned. You may have forgotten-could you list them next time as usual?

  Your article lacks anything in the way of detailed analysis of your so-called 'Nkrumah's Primal Energy Faux-Pas.' Talk about the challenges of the present and the future than the past. Why should Dr Kwame Nkrumah be responsible for today's mismanagement of the Akosombo Hydro Power?
  
  Regardless of the then economics and politics, Dr Kwame Nkrumah laid the foundations for Ghana's energy security and started the country's industrial transformation.
  
  If successive Governments have failed to make progress, why should that reflect Nkrumah's energy policy? If the current Government[s] cannot deliver the energy infrastructure to ensure security of supply, why blame it on Dr Nkrumah? If the current Government[s]cannot encourage investment and hopefully kick-start the industrial transformation Ghana so desperately need, why blame it on Dr Nkrumah? If today, our Government[s] cannot implement coherent energy policies to address the challenges that the country faces, why blame it on Dr Kwame Nkrumah?

  You goofed up big time. How do you make our current issues about Nkrumah. So what are you going to blame him for next time ? Subsidized education made Ghanaians lazy ? Based on the competence being exhibited by the current crop of leaders in Ghana, I am sure a courageous project like the Akosombo HEP would never be built if it had to be attempted in this era.
  
  I am against some of Nkrumah's approach to development and governance, but truth be told, the man tried his best.

  The mere extension of electricity to villages without added value is simply unsustainable. We need to revive the "Rural Development" agenda of the Second Republic by creating cottage industries whereby energgy will be used to create jobs to stem the current unbridled and disastrous urbanisation.
  
  Wht we are tinkering with at the moment is a social time bomb. What use is electricity or LPG to villagers who cannot afford it because there is no sustainable local economic activity??
