Ghanaians tend to worship their leaders, Vitus being no exception. There's very minimal objective analysis of ghanaian leaders performance in office whilst they yet live and even after they pass on. Independent analysis is almost non-existent because of the political/tribal culture that exists within our system. There's too much partisanship and polarization in national politics and social issues, subjecting every issue to the chicanery and jaundiced views of political acrobats and tribal bigots .We are like a people running a steeplechase race with both eyes closed. In our jaundiced eyes every ghanaian leader is super human whose actions are devoid of mistakes if you're their supporter and a villain/dummy who's incapable of doing anything right if you belong to the opposite camp. In death the affections and disaffections never change."You dare not challenge my hero!" Really absurd! That's a real problem, a national tragedy because we're never able to make a correct assessment of their performance in order to draw useful lessons from their tenure of office. When the lessons are missed we're more likely to repeat the mistakes. This has been the story of our lives. We've been going round in circles, actually going nowhere because we refuse to learn useful lessons.Until we sit up and become realists , until we wake up to the fact that our elected leaders are just as human as anybody else and fallible we will accept mediocrity for excellence and failure for success.Nkrumah, Danquah, Busia, Limann, Rawlings, Kuffuor, Mills, none of these were perfect by any stretch of the imagination.They succeeded and failed to some extent and it's up to us now living and those that will come after us, for our own good, to put emotions aside and determine the actual performance of our political leaders. We elected them to office and they're accountable to the electorate, whether we voted for him or not.Their actions and inactions affect all of us and it's important to be clear eyed when assessing their performance.

I know a lady whose direct uncle was tied to the stake and shot by Jerry Rawlings for taking a loan he was servicing monthly, but who still thinks the armed robber is the best thing that happened to Ghana since Tetteh Quarshe brough cocoa down from Fernando Po.

If John Yawose is as bold and upright as he takes his cheap shot at the dead he would have had the guts to ask why some companies that have contractually dealt with the governments of J.J. Rawlings and Kufour end up with dispute over what is and is not a binding legal contract.
Why do you John Yawose not hear about this letter from Wayome and others since until Barton-Odro came to the witness stand? Are documents produced in government offices across Ghana not part of government work products? Why would Barton-Odro be the one and only one to know of the existence of the said letter and no one else since the Wayome saga began?

Otherwise, why should Mahama support Barton Oduro as the Deputy Speaker of Parliament when all know he is a Woyome associate criminal and why has this case not fast rack?
