  Who will bell the cat? If every body in government, from the President to the cleaner or messanger, is stealing, who will prosecute the criminal? We all know that those stealing with impunity are from NDC and so as long as they remain in power none of them will be prosecuted. Sadly the whistle blowers like Ken Adjapong and Hamidu are the ones who are punished because the security forces appear to be in bed with NDC. May God help Ghana.

  politicians and public office holders are well too used to these lamentations it doesn't rock their backs one bit. as for the president's directive hmmmm nawaaoooo!!!!. i pessimistically receive it with a pinch of salt. why i'm i saying that. atta mills of blessed memory stood at the tema port and told the whole nation that he is AWARE of the rot going on there. you see the enormity of that statement? he was aware but left there now appealing to them perhaps not to "steal" . you see you don't appeal to people. the law addresses the problem. simple as ABC.
  
  let me repeat myself again. "successful" nations have some basic things in common. one of them is workable and enforceable laws. everyone respects and abides by them and there is progress. the president have no business directing anybody to take action if the laws are working.
  
  that is the populist tendencies of our leaders. they themselves are as guilty as those they seek to persecute. nothing works my brother.

Dont we have CHRAG, FAST TRACK, and other bodies set up as Watch Dogs? Causing Financial Loss to the nation is the best example. There is something innately wrong with us. We need a radical shake up in the system. There are more serious things affecting the nation than the.......sending so-called cotemnors to jail. We are living in a lost generation. Let us go in the schools to train up leaders with the right moral character for the future.

  Dennis, your article is really interesting as it highlights the source of Ghana's underdevelopment.
  The Auditor-General themselves are complicit in the stealing and corruption in the MDAs so they decided to describe these serious occurrences as "irregularities" instead of using the apt words stealing and corruption.
  The psyche of the average Ghanaian is such that any described as "irregularity" is unserious, hence the "Election Fraud and Corruption" spearheaded by "Dr" Afari-Gyan is simply described as an "irregularity". Fraud is fraud no matter how mildly you put it.
  It is very sad that Ghanaian leaders and administrators don't understand "PRACTICAL CONTROL AND ACCOUNTATABILITY SYSTEMS". They only read it from books, pass their exams and forget it because they haven't seen it in practice.
  The developed world are developed because their economies are protected by strong controls and accountability systems. People are punished sufficiently when they are caught violating the control systems.
  An example is, parliament holding the Minister of Interior accountable for rising armed robbery and fire outbreaks, hence the Minister will have to "THINK" through measures (Strategic Thinking) to implement to solve the problems with the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) who must also think through tactical strategies to implement to solve or address these problems, The IGP also passes these measures down the ranks. This must be done continuously and not a one-off exercise done during Christmas period only. All these processes come with consequences for failing to deliver on your goals and targets. The consequences for failure to deliver may include demotion, salary freeze, dismissals, prosecution, imprisonment, etc.
  Imagine these approaches are rolled out all over Ghana in both public and private sectors in Ghana?
  But to be successful, we need the political will to achieve it, not the NDC/NPP divide. Another issue is how can a government accused of complicit in these "irregularities" address these issues?

  Arriving at the town hall seconds before closing time, a couple caught a judge as he was about to leave and asked him to marry them. The judge asked if they had a license, and when they said they did not, he sent them off to get one.
  They caught the town clerk just as he was locking up and managed to get a license from him.
  When they returned to the judge, he looked the license over and pointed out to them that they had filled the names in backwards... her's where his should be, and vice versa. They rushed back to the clerk's office, caught him again, and obtained another license.
  This time, the judge noted that the clerk had used the incorrect format when he filled in the date, so he sent them back to the clerk again.
  After several reissued licenses, the judge finally appeared satisfied. "I hope you understand why I made you keep going back," he said. "Any irregularities in the license would mean that your marriage would not be legal. Subsequently, any children you might have would be technical bastards."
  "Funny," the groom commented, "that's exactly how the clerk referred to you."

  The current president and his vice were directly in charge of Ghana's economy when the whopping $51m dollar fraudulent payment was made to the rogue Woyome. Surely, such a huge payment (compared to the national economy), should have caught the eye of the Governor of Bank of Ghana, if he really understood his job. It went through with ease.
  
  What we need to do is for a few of us Ghanaians, even if we are in the Diaspora, to get together to drag ALL MDAs against whom "irregularities" have been reported to the courts and get their chief directors, accountants and auditors sent to prison and their assets confisticated to the state. Is anybody ready to join this crusade?

If these so-called fools are cheating their own fathers for 3 pounds instead of 1 pound, what then do you expect them to do within a system so porous as ours? They are very selfish and greedy and have not a single sense of patriotism and fear of GOD. They will do everything do manipulate the best system put in place for their egomaniac pompous self and call themselves (omama). Ghanaians as a whole need to change their corrupt attitude and adopt the FEAR OF GOD and (Din pa ye sen ahoya). Therein comes the REDEEMER. God bless us all.

  It is extremely difficult to put this thing called NANA HAKIM into any identity for education. One thing though, I have never ever represented any one known as JOSEPH AMOATENG anywhere in the UNIVERSE..[Was he referring ERIC...one of my many clients?]I DO practice law in the USA and, I am very PROUD to able to help a whole lot of people in various degrees of difficulties. A BARRAGE OF ILLITERACY INDUCED INSULTS from this thing should NOT deter US from cleaning such things as this "HAKIM" from the massive challenges facing our country. APPARENTLY, there some who will enjoy the continuation of the horror of the issues we face: "IRREGULARITIES" IN OUR PUBLIC SERVICE ....

If Hakim knew the facts (Of course if he has the brains to understand issues) he would commend Dennis for the pro bono job he did for Eric. The family members are waiting to give Dennis a rousing welcome in Ghana for helping Amoateng to get a lesser time in jail. Nana Hakim needs a better schooling!!! Such people are dragging Ghana backwards.
