  You may well be right that Nkrumah could have been the first to subvert the Constitution of our Nation. But just for the sake of curiosity may I ask if you have ever read the very first Constitution that mandated the governance of his Administration?
  
  Could anyone tell us a bit of that Constitution and the parts or sections of it that would have, in all ways, made certain changes like Nkrumah did unconstitutional?
  
  Besides, if a Consttution is the product of a consensus of a Parliament and it was by that process that Nkrumah rammed his One-Party State down the Nation's throat, how would he have subverted the same Constitution that authorized him to exercise that mandate?
  
  I fully recognize the oddity of ruling with only one Party and claiming a democratic governance. But is there not a difference between a moral lacking in a Law and the Law's illegality as dictated by the authorizing Constitution?
  
  If there is, then I would dare suggest that while Nkrumah might have overlooked the moral imperative in leaving our multi-Party system intact, his parliamentary-approved One-Party System might not have breached the Constitution. And he could not have subverted the Constitution subsequent to that Parlaimentary consensus.
  
  If there was anything in the Constitution that existed from the very beginning of our Indepenednce to bar any kind of Parliamentary decision to change the Constitution to allow an One-Party system, then the Parliament acted unconstitutionally in voting for that change of our governance system, whether Nkrumah used coercion or not to attain that.
  
  What do you think? Let's discuss this civilly to help us all learn more to enrich ourselves.
  
  Unlike a Military Coup which indisputably emerges upon the threat of gun violence, the arm-twisting of Parliamentarians that might have forced them to vote for Nkrumah's One-Party system could have been Constitutional. If on the other hand, the incumbent used some sort of threats to the lives of the Opposition and even its own members to get them to vote against their will, then that would have been illegal.
  
  I am arguing this way because there are precedents of single Party govenance in various Countries where democratic rights were not necessarily usurped.

  mind you apartheid laws were also parliamentary approved. you lose sight of the fact that good laws derive from natural moral laws. when morals run out as it did in the case of Nkrumah's case, the bottom falls out. that is why apartheid laws could nto stand the test of time. so please come again

  The doctor's mouth dropped open. "Your what?" he gasped.
  "My sex drive," said the old man. "It's too high, and I'd like to have you lower it if you can."
  "Lower it!" exclaimed the doctor, still unable to believe what the ninety-year-old gentleman was saying. "Just what do you consider 'high'?"
