Tanko is never an independent minded but an NPP apologist.At least the ndc is having a northerner as a ruling and seating president which the NPP never contemplated having a northerner as a presidential candidate,not even in the person of the late Aliu Mohammed the then vice president under the Kuffuor administration inspite of the years he acted as the president of Ghana during the long escapades of Kuffuor.The NPP as a true Akan party labeled him incompetent due to his ethnic origin whilst Akuffo Addo who acted in the capacities of attorney general and foreign affairs minister,a failure and flop respectively considering the murder of some Ghanaian nationals in the Gambia and and the missing Ghanaian diplomatic passports coupled with the setting free of some notable NPP women stalwarts-cocain traffickers under the eagle watch and tacit authority of Akuffo Addo.

Mr Tanko, you have every right to belong to the Danquah-Busia tradition and to sing their praises but the party has a perception problem with Northerners.

The behavior of this tradition and their actions in the past and present has brought about this attitude Northerners are having about them.

You are comfortable in Kumasi as a Northerner but I wonder if you have taken a tour of your place in the North in the last 10 years and care to find out which of the 2 political traditions your people at home are comfortable with.

Do not write off majority of your people as being manipulated by some one else. They have the faculties of their own. They listen, they see and they observe things.

Northerners do not need sympathy from any one. They want to be treated right and with respect.

Zongo is for settlers and not for Northerners. There are zongos in Tamale, Salaga, Wa, Bolga and Gambaga. Who live there? You have no attachment, physical, mental or emotional to the North.
Northerners like and vote for NDC (and Rawlings as you claim) because of what the party has done for and to the North.
You began by calling Nkrumah a dictator, do you know that your darling Nana Akufo Addo was an Nkrumaist and that his 2012 campaign message of FREE EDUCATION was stolen from the Nkrumah tradition? If his father had not been president he probably would not have been NPP.
If NDC has done something you, sort that out and spare us some time. I do not stop you from writing but please, please write about something you know, not assumptions.

Why are you guys deliberately refusing to accept the truth that will set you free. Why does the 3 northern regions remain the poorest in the country after NDC's 25 years in gov't? If they really cared about you, certainly the north could be closer to the south in terms of socio-economic attributes?

Lastly would you not agree that the policies of the NPP benefited the poorest in society as the writer asserted? Look, let's wake up to reality, you guys have been deceived for far too long. Do not be blinded pettiness and propaganda and unwarranted hatred.

Someone would also rebut this paint NPP in the same vein which makes both parties not qualified to run this country. Have you been to eastern region? Western region? and the great Ashanti region? They hated NPP because it was the party that threatened their stay in Ghana and most of them are afraid to go back to Burkina Faso, Togo Benin, Niger and Nigeria where they belong. They support NDC not because it is the best for Ghana but because that serves their myopic interest. If you could remember they supported Acheampong, Liman and P/NDC.
