  If ghana had the leadership we would have had a good and marketable brand name to sell the nation to boost tourism ,internation trade /investment and education .Ghana has a lot to market , 1 Our rich culture/festivities2,Our warm hospitality to visitors 3,Our good educational institutions 4 Good business enviroment to attract foreign investors 5 Stable democracy,governace and rule of law ,these are the main areas which must be considered and enlighted to form the core message of the brand publicity or advert/slogan to sell ghana,In britain the queen and her palaces,educational institution such as oxford /cambridge,london eye,london underground,zoos ,shops like harolds ,bridges ,good business envoriments are all iconic and play major role to brand UK for tourism /business so why cant we do the same in ghana .last but not the least we in ghana must should the good english language to our advantage intead of the twi which is by most Fm stations ,this set us back and will not encourage writers to write more books because most people dont read let alone to write ,for ghana to move forward we must educated population to be able to read and write specially in english to understand the changes in the global world in politics,economic,social and science/technology.

  He graduated from the University of Ghana in 1967 with a B.Sc in Economics. Nana trained as a lawyer in England and was called to the English Bar (Middle Temple) in 1971 and the Ghanaian Bar in 1975.
  
  Under President Kufuor, Nana served as the Attorney-General and Minister for Foreign Affairs. He was the flagbearer of the party in the 2008 elections and was again elected in 2010 to be the flagbearer of the party in the upcoming 2012 elections.

  The.industrial development of Ghana can be fast tracked on four pillars, namely, energy from oil, gas and hydro, aluminum from huge bauxite deposits, steel from iron ore deposits, value addition by processing every raw material produced ranging from timber to gold. These key sectors when concentrated upon and done well can boost Ghana's economic development to a tiger status.

  Brand Ghana has a line up of executives with so-called qualifications that would make an ordinary person from any part of the world feel inferior to approach them.......
  
  These bunch have no vision at all and are unfortunately led by someone who is clueless about his role in the so-called 'Branding of Ghana'.
  
  I wrote on this platform years ago...............and now I have been vindicated. I did ask why we were branding Ghana? Was it because other countries were doing so at the time? Or did we really had the need to do so?
  
  These lot have colour-printed leaflets and 'hand-outs' with beautiful images of themselves elaborating on their superior qualifications etc. etc.
  (That reminds me of a saying -"Na qualifications, we go chop?").......
  
  These lot cannot and do not challenge their idle minds to go out there and sell their ideas of why? how? and what Ghana has to brand? They cannot sell the 'brand' to anybody at all, with their approach to things.
  
  But they, for some reason turn round to claim that they have notable lineup of initiatives to give Ghana a unique identity.....Please let's know what has been achieved since its birth.
  
  Please ask the team of executives specifically what those initiatives are and what they, the so-called masters degree holders have done themselves, to create that unique identity for the benefit of Ghana? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!
  
  All that they can provide anyone with, is a carbon copy of what can also be obtained at the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.
  
  Absolutely nothing new to offer,...It's a shame to know that hese lot are NOT challenging their minds to bring up creative ideas to brand Ghana positively to the world audience, to attract tourists and investors to our shores. NOTHING!
  
  Mr. Akotia, please consider 'Brand Ghana Ofiice' as your own private entity and see how best you can run it, in order not let your staff desert their posts. I bet if that was the case you would somehow find funding somewhere to sustain your business.
  
  Oh! Ghana! Why do we always make political appointments of individuals who are incapable of the positions offered them?
  
  Why do we believe so much in partisanship, coupled with paper qualifications to justify silly appointments of such officials in such important positions?
  
  I would suggest Brand Ghana shuts down completely and go back to the drawing board and elect people who can 'THINK', and are INNOVATIVE and can run it like their own personal businesses for the BENEFIT of GHANA!!!!!
  Not for the benefit of the present staff and Mr. Akotia himself...waiting on funds from the government to function?....... What a waste!
  
  I will fish out my past article and present it on this forum once again.

Ghana is already a brand in itself. This office was set up as a way to provide jobs for thr boys. The USA, Japan and Germany don't have branding offices. But we know what comes to mind when these nations are mentioned. Go and look for a real job. In thefirst place what has Akotia branded before?

  Branding the country with all the positive vibes will require a calm and peaceful atmosphere which will generate the required confidence by investors.The polarized political climate does not augur well for the such atmosphere and unless Ghanaians put aside partisanship for the general good, such calls to help positively brand Ghana will be a mirage.
  
  Egocentric-ism and the believe by some as ordained by posterity to always be at the helms of leadership is the problem that sector(tourism and the brand Ghana)is facing and unless something is urgently done the better it will be for all.
  
  Development, tourism and investments thrive on climates which generates confidence.As much as these call on improving the sector is laudable,the politicians and must bury their egos for the general good to bring about the required results.
