The self defeating assertion that NPP parliamentary votes was more than NDC and trying to draw a correlation between the parliamentary and the presidential elections is very interesting. If that is the case, it would have been better to take the parliamentary results to court than the Presidential as the can never be the same. NPP knew they are the minority in parliamnet and the fact that their own parliamentarians will not support the party if they had wanted to take parliamentary results to court; they turn around trying to manufacture a case out of nothing. The parties summary at the SC was very interesting. I don't have to be a lawyer to know who speaks with passion.

Thank you Mr.Writer, infact Addisons arguement is soo illogical i was surprised he made it at the highest court of the land. And having people supporting that arguement forcefully makes me very sad. It tells you there is something fundamentally wrong with our educational system. Because,if very educated people in our society can make wierd deductions like that,it speaks volumes as to why we are where we are. As you rightly argued there can be about 120 scenerous that can accounts for this situation. As someone who has researched into the voting pattern since 1996, i cant help it but to laugh over this wierd arguement. Let me give Addison just few happenings in the 2012 election. In KEEA, JM had over 30,000 votes whiles his parliamentary candidate had about 15,000 and the reason being that another NDC candidate who stood as independent candidate had over 14,000. Again all the Independent candidate who won their seat were from the NDC party, and when you check the votes from the presidential, all those who voted for the independent candidate virtually voted for JM in those constituencies. Again in constituencies where NDP candidate stood, the votes for the NDC MP reduced as a result of that whiles JM votes were high, and this was very significant especially in the Volta Region. Besides, any good observer, can easily tell you that JM was more porpular than his MPs in most constituencies, infact there were a lot of people who voted for NDC because of JM other than NDC as a party, and again this was very much so in the Zongo cummunities especially in the Ashanti and the Brong Ahafo regions. So you see Mr. Addison, this is just about four reasons why we had such results in 2012. If i were you, i will rather be disturbed to reaslise that the NPP presidential candidate had almost the same votes as all his MPs combined. It tells you, NPP didnt have a porpular candidates who can win an election on his own, and that he can only depend on the core NPP voters, for me that is quite revealing and that is where you guys should focus your energies on.

From the very word go, all well meaning Ghanaians know that the NPP has no case and that they only want to disturb and disgrace this country,becasue they are not in power.We are very much aware of certain top NPP law lawyers who have refused to take up this case when they were contacted. As accomplished lawyers, they were able to project the outcome of the case and as a result, refused to be a part of it so as not to tarnish their image.I would be very suprised if the court did not throw away this diabolical, bogus,and divisive case.Or better still,it should be followed to its logical conclusion for Addison and his gangs to know that, they can not take the court and Ghanaians for granted.Que pena!

Let me make it clear here that we are dealing strictly with presidential election petition not parliamentary.The official declared results show that the 6 other defeated candidates together got only 1.56% of the valid votes cast.That shows that many of the electorate who voted for Prez Mahama were not NDC supporters to the chagrin of Nana Addo and that's what makes the difference.NPP had bigger figures in their constituencies for MPs but it's the number of constituencies won by a party that carries the majority in parliament.Addison should first find out; where the votes for the parties without MPs went.He will see that all their votes benefited Prez Mahama to the chagrin of Nana Addo.Thank you.

But if you are just trying to confuse people with your propaganda then let me point to you that the mathematicians who coach Addison on the figures and their effect on the final result are millions of miles above you guys. First of all, we know the total number of valid votes cast as per the declaration of EC. The total vote that went to the other candidates beside NPP and NDC is 151,280. If you want us to beleive that the difference of 477,000 in excess of hamama's vote came about as result of voters who voted for the independent parliamentary candidates and other parties MP candidates then you have failed. This is because if you add all those figures to the NDC MPs figures Mahama will still have bigger figure and the excess can not be explained. This came from over voting.

Some people voted in the special voting for the presidential, and not for the parliamentary. It is quite possible that this happened in the main poll as well. Then there is also the fact that there were skirt and blouse votes.

The fact is that Nan Akufo-Addo alienated some voters with his all-die-be-die mantra, and also failed to convince with his free education police. The death of President Mills and the wave of public sympathy that followed all played in John Mahama's favour. Besides his own personal attributes of humility, prudence and good communication did his standing with the electorate no harm at all.

You are confusing yourself. those figure you are looking for is found in the total figurrs declared by the EC. Let me help you out... What you want to say is that the over 400,000 votes in excess of Mahama and NDC MPs resulted from people who voted for John Mahama but opted to vote for either an independent MP candidate or MP candidates of the other parties other than the NDC.

What Addison said was that the differential was curious and sure it is. It is right to observe that the differential comes from the minority parties. But what will make them abandon their Presidential candidates en bloc and then chose to give their votes to John Mahama en bloc?

Examining trends in Ghanaian elections, minority party voters have never abandon their candidates in first round voting. It has never happened before. What was special about 2012 for this to happen?

Secondly, when minority party voters have decided to give their votes to the two large parties, they have never been almost 100% to one side.

This makes the situation curious but as to whether one can jump from this to allege rigging is another case. But we know that a number of minority parties (especially the PPP, which placed third) have alleged that their votes were not recorded in their favour. They actually complained to the EC, which has never bothered to respond to date. That is why some PPP operatives have made positive noises about the petition.

Look carefully at the results of the elections as published. It is quite clear that John Mahama's votes were spread across the country, while Nana Addo's votes were concentrated in Ashanti and parts of Eastern region.

NDC did well in areas where it was not expected to, and NPP also did well in some areas where it was not expected to. A prime example is KEEA.

People did state after the elections that they were NPP supporters who voted for NPP in the parliamentary, but for Mahama in the presidential.

Some also voted in the presidential, but not in the parliamentary.

All in all, it is plausible that Mahama could win the presidential vote and NDC win the parliamentary, while the total NPP parliamentary vote would be bigger than the total NDC parliamentary vote.

After the maestro was done addressing the court, it was Addison's turn to address the court and what did he say?

He said NPP MPs had more votes than NDC MPs so by extension, Nana Addo had more votes than Mahama.

BEFORE this garbage came out of Addison's mouth, the maestro Tsatsu had this to say;

"The Petitioners claim is factually empty with no supportable evidence being produced; legally pathetic; the petition is poor in arithmetic; POOR IN LOGIC; and deficient in statistics as well."
