Dr. Bokor, the constitution allows the President to appoint people who represent the govt at the local level. The president's appointees are qualified and competent to do the job. If the local people have a genie concern about the performance of the President's nominees, there is an avenue to deal with it than burning properties. We should learn to accommodate the decision of the party as the best to move forward than everyone trying to detect to the President.

I will agree with you Dr. Bokor that elections will be the only solution to the problem. This will make them responsible and accountable to the electorate

Qualified and competence are necessary in an appointee but not enough for the execution of everything including morality and probity. If the person is qualified but corrupt then what. If the person held the position and despite his qualification and competency he/she was found to be arrogant etc. then he/she does not deserve a second chance.

I'm on the same page with you doc. In Builsa south, the DCE who was re-mominated managed to garner only 12% of the total votes of the Assembly members but to the utter surprise of all, he was asked to continue in an acting position. Is he the only competent person that the NDC can throw at the people? As an ardent supporter of JM, i worry that he's unwittingly digging his own grave. The NPP won't and can't bring JM down, but JM can and will bring himself down with these type of strange actions.
