I would like the Supreme Court verdict to penalize NPP for embarking on this Bush-2000-like attempt at a judicial coup d'etat.

In many democratic countries there IS a threshold of about 0.5% vote difference before any electoral challenge can be contemplated. Yet in our case, because the constitution does not spell that threshold out,any power-hungry candidate can hold the country to ransom for 3/4 of a year. It's exactly like Romney who lost by the same margin as Akuffo Addo, taking a bogus case to the US Supreme Court AFTER elections seeking nullification of Pres Obama's victory. Very sickening.

So then this precedence becomes a way for candidates not to even bother campaigning to a NATIONALLY diverse electorate and seeking their vote. Afterall they can take the easy route of "temper tantrum" politics to rob voters of their constitutional rights, and victors of their victory.

I hope the judges return a unanimous rejection of Akuffo Addo's Talibanesque insurgency.

Look, am not an NPP man but whenever one writes he should know that a lot of other guys equally intelligent are reading from this forum and so they'd make an assessment of your writeup.
Looks like this Dr. does not understand english language. The judges set out 2 main bases for determining their decision: whether there were irregularities, malpractices, voilations, omissions etc and whether their magnitude is enough to make any difference. Question is were the petitioners able to prove these things, and I bet you they were able to do that and even went beyond that. Remember in some cases Afari Djan himself conceded. So what is Michael Bokor doing with this bogus analysis you call great????
Remember the councils for the respondents have not denied the fact that there were irregularities etc; they are only pleading with the courts to throw away the petitioners case based on "BAD FAITH". Apart from bad faith what else have they mentioned????? Your guess is as good as mine.

Q. Would you agree that BVD device reinforces the principle of one man, one vote?

At pages 25-26 of the record of proceedings for the same day, Dr. Afari-Gyan made the point about the very limited role of polling agents abundantly clear.

Q. He does not count the votes after the election?
A. My lords no.

A. He does not.
Q. He also does not inspect the ID cards of persons who are in the cue to vote?

Q. He cannot confront anybody directly at the polling station?

Q. if he has any objection to anything happening he has to inform the presiding officer?
A. My lord yes.
Q. So the presiding officer is in-charge of the polling station?

Q. He has the final say on any matter?
A. So far as it is connected with the election yes.
Q. In fact the presiding officer can ask the polling agent to leave the polling station.
A. My lords yes if the polling agent misconducts himself or herself.
Q. And who determines who misconducts himself, it is the presiding officer?
