  This is just scare-mongering.Of course, change in any form is initially detested but get out of your comfort zone and you'd notice the benefit of genetic engineering and its profound contribution to prolonged life expectancy. No scientist in their right mind would set out to kill mankind because America and the corporate giants have paid them to do so. What is wrong, for example, in using science to provide crops or plant species/varieties that can withstand drought or pests without resorting to the use of chemicals which are themselves more lethal?
  
  Please take a step back and re-examine this politically-entrenched myopia and you will see that you are encouraging people to believe utter nonsense. Socialism is dead; it never worked and will never work. China and the Soviet Union will testify to that. Man is naturally, a capitalist and will always strive to improve upon what they have - sometimes at a high cost. But in the end, the greater the risk the higher the dividend.Wake up and stop this scare-mongering crap, Sir.

  What is scare-mongering. Ignorance of what is taking place in other countries shouldn't be ignored. Moreover for those who think that they will let everything to be dictated by multinationals who have exploited us since colonialism, should re-examine themselves in the growing awakening of anti-GM systems of farming worldwide because of its horrendous effects to food sovereignty and independence of agriculture policy local sustainability. I will support Food Sovereignty Ghana and what they stand for rather than to succumb to the imperialist dictates of the US Government in our agriculture-food chain system. God bless Ghana. Say No to GMOs

This whole GMO affair will end the same way as smoking which initially the tobacco industry did not want to agree was harmful but now it has become common knowledge that smoking is bad for health.

  Genetic engineering is already outdated and failed science. The claims you make of "using science to provide crops or plant species/varieties that can withstand drought or pests without resorting to the use of chemicals which are themselves more lethal?" are all failures, no successes. Advocates of genetic engineering are left with crying the unsubstantiated and specious argument: "all your children will die without GE!"
