Margerat, I think you have missed the point this time. I didn't see anything in your article that suggested the man said something wrong during the lecture. Lets try to deal with issues based on their merits and not based on who is championing what. The IEA at times makes mistakes as in the case of the post election conference they wanted to organise while the election petition was still going on and when they do we must criticise them, on the other hand when they create space for deliberations such as the presidential debate and de Klerk talks, we should also praise them for making it possible for such debates and not lambed everythings together just to rubbish them.

He was part of the regimes that caused even more havoc and devastation in neighbouring African countries such as Mozamibique, Namibia and Angola. Zimbabwe and Zambia also paid a heavy price for their anti-Apartheid stance. Those considerations should have weighed heavily on decision to invite him. But not with these reactionary people, who see themselves as bedfellows with all conservatives in the world!
Funny their supporters overseas tend to identify with left leaning parties, rather than the racist, anti-immigrant conservative parties such as the Tories in the UK and the Rep. Party in the US.

Victor Owusu unilaterally advocated for confrontation with the Apartheid regime, and led to the stand of Dr Busia who was a wiseman's thinking cap unlike you aggressive talkatives. I am a dye in the wool NPP but hated Apartheid as well as the poor administration of ANC.
We do not support people who oppress Africans but then wont shout our grievances from the mountain top
You can lie through your flat nose forever but wont change the conscience of wise men
NPPs do not hide our Right wing credentials but in power we worked with both East and West to win favours from them for our country's development. We are pro-Ghana but hate SOCIALISM because it breeds dictatorship, censorship and corruption...If you don't like it come down and go to keta lagoon with some of the inflated priced fuel and burn it, nyebro!
Lastly, I thought Mahama jumped on the bandwagon to meet De Klerk

Bonso, you can defend your ideology etc, but to cliam that you hate apartheid as well as the "poor administration of the ANC" I realized you don't know what you talking about.
What is poor about the ANC govt???? Compare it to any other south African government and tell us why it is poor???? no understanding of the dynamics at play in South Africa yet you talk plenty. Any ANC govt has been better than any UP/NPP government.
When you say dialogue is what carried the day then it reinforces the belief that you read a novel and not a historical account. dialougue was a result of a state of war and serious economic downturn, infact at the time negotaitions started btn ANC and Pretoria, experst have claimed and correctly so that SA was in a state of war, bombings, asasinations, mass killings etc. So your contention that UP did not want blacks to be decimated in a fight is a sign you as well as the UP had no idea what was happening in Southern Africa at the time. In fact wars in Mozambique, Angola, etc at that time in that region of the continent had the Apartheid governments involvement , ANC, Umkunto, and the Zulus were training large forces in neighbouring countries so a war in that region would not have led to a decimation of the black population but rather the reverse bcos with resources stretched and outnumbered 10 -1 the boers would have also decimated the source of their cheap labour that had built the economy at the time.
Bonso, your comment is myopic and idiotic with no idea what was going on in the region at the time, just like you UP forefathers, South Africa was in a state of war.
when you cliam socialism breeds corruption you then show you lack education, intellect and common sense. bye

Maggie! Where is Akufo Adoo? Guess what! In the UK. See, these Mate Mehu NPP errand-boys of colonial past will never stop running a fool’s errand for their masters.
One would think that after such a phony petition case was dismissed by the SC and the whole fatigue he endured via his incompetent lawyers Akufo Addo will choose to relax in the scenic pacific seas of the Seychelles, Caribbean or somewhere in Tuscan in Italy for a good rest and recuperations; No , this lowbrow with no cultural material goes to the UK. Why of all the beautiful places in the world he goes to UK? Well your guess is as good as mine.
The sabotage still goes on after holding Ghana hostage for nine good months. Akufo Addo like his forebears are anti-Ghana. They boycotted the birth of a new nation because they were not in the driver’s seat. They blackmailed Ghana prior to regaining our independence and thereafter. They condoned and connived with oppressor apartheid regime in the 60’sbut send our fellow sisters and brothers packing with Aliens Compliance order. The dream of African Unity cannot be found in their repository of words. These disgruntled Mate Mehu elements short circuited our economic and industrial development through coup in 1966 but claim to adhere to rule of law. How can a self-righteous, if not my way the highway and ego charged lawless bunch overthrow a constitutionally elected government and claim to advance democracy? If you lose elections many times over and forcibly to come to power through the gun; you cannot claim to be advancing democracy. Only in the world of their knuckleheads!
These groups like IEA, AFAG, IMANI, DI and all those Mate Mehu appendages have always held the belief that their ilk must lead Ghana but each time it is met with a rebuff from Ghanaian electorate. Their method to convert a clear loser into winner and hurry zero to hero is well known. They reap where they have not sown. The whole will come to know them soon for they are at their wits end.
Wanabu, can you trust F.W. De Klerk who is tainted with apartheid? me not!

You people are sabotaging yourselves and Ghanaians as well. All you know is name calling and making silly comments which does not help develop this country one bit. Remember, the bad governance we are going through has nothing to do with the opposition but everything to do with the kind of people the NDC chooses to appoint into leadership roles. They are failing and in the proces dragging us all down with them. Stop renaming projects and policies your opponents initiated, be original, start thinking and deliver on your numerous hollow promises. Enough of the accusations and NDC/NPP nonsense. Think! You have little to show for Ghana's development as a search on "Ghana's GDP" shows for all your efforts together. Whether you like it or not, its the same people have ruled Ghana for almost 50 years
I have the chronicle of personalities in the same political grouping and I bet its exemplified by this President:
His father was CPP
He worked under Jerry Rawlings as Minister of Communications
He served as MP in NDC for 12 years
He is now the President of NDC, formerly CPP
There is nothing anymore as CPP
CPP is the same as NDC
All united by their hatred of NPP
Now I suggest to you Nana Ansah and your ilk thus: Help your own country with constructive suggestions to your leaders as we NPP do and develop Ghana as we did in the ten years we ruled Ghana

how can the country for good nine months be teethering on the brink of a civil war over a court case?
Your thinking is the same as every NDC or CPP guy - that you would have gone to war if you had lost the case: That is the untold fact: War for political power to rule a poor country like Ghana is not what NPP seek but what you aggressive covetous power grabbers in CPP and NDC don't mind and will die for.
How can there be war over a court case, and why was there no war when NPP lost the case?
You see what I always tell you CPP/NDC people: You will kill Ghanaians as you always do for political power...power is all you seek for economic gains
Politics is your life time career and business because you gain materially from it by way of positions, appointments, contracts, commissions and corruption galore that makes you rich and die leaving them in the hands of worms...
That is why is so many people are poor because you people seek power not to help the country but how to get kickbacks galore...
And I dare ask you: what problems does NPP cause Ghana except development? You believe your own lie as all communists do...you lie as much as your fathers did and plunged this country into poverty and dictatorship...you invent ruse from your paranoid mental states and justify it with draconian measures: Its like your invention of kulungugu only to try your own CPP Ministers, and then establish one party state and PDA...You lie too much
Why should we go to war for political power? What a paragon of bunkum you spew forth here!
