  Thank you so much Katakyie Kwame. For I have been saying this over the past two decades because I was myself a victim and so are numerous friends of mine. Till date if one failed to have a credit/pass in English language or Mathematics at the final external examinations be it G.C.E of the current system then that's the end to one's ambition of becoming whatever they wanted to be. And this archaic we are still practicing is not serving us well.
  Our whole educational system needs to be revamped or amended so that no child is left behind. Just like you mentioned, one may not be very good in Maths or English but very well vexed in say languages or other subject areas. Our school system is crying for help but no leader with a vision, bold and with common sense is coming forward to the rescue.
  Please forward or send copies to the education minister, all our idiotic MP's, the president and also the professors at the Universities teaching education especially Cape Coast.

  It is said that if you think formal education is expensive, try ignorance. Yes, teachers in Ghana ought to know about the multiple intelligences of Howard Gardner, but can you practise it in the Ghanaian environment of greed, corruption, chaos and incompetent supervisors? How much do teachers earn to give themselves the gargantuan headache of practising multiple intelligences in class? Be realistic.

  The solution lies in the establishment of apprenticeships, vocational schools, technical institutions and polytechnics, so the less academically able can find their own vocations and fulfill their destinies. That is why we need to provide decent, state sponsored education for ALL Ghanaians till age 18.
  
  Sir Richard Branson of Virgin fame, left school with just two or three O Levels. Lord Sugar of Armstrad fame didn't even have any. Bill Gates began his first software in his dormitory room, and quit university to pursue his dream.
