  Need we learn a lesson from other foreign universities and try to instil some discipline in our universities? At Oxford or Cambridge, you would not have the mayhem we through at Legon in the mid 70s, where undergrads ponded, enahoroed, charged and misbehaved wantonly, leading to unpleasant confrontations with police, such as the battle of the gate etc. Such behaviour has followed us into the world, leading to indiscipline in our body politik. JJ has turned our worlds upside down by breeding more indiscipline and mediocrity in our educational system.

  I followed your great write-up until your detour to university education spoiled the broth! By the time one reached university, s/he was expected to be disciplined! So at what age do you expect one to be independent and circumspect? Some of us who were lost in secondary school came into our own at the university, defined by what we had been taught in secondary schools!

  My point is that many of us "lost the plot" at the university and never recovered and that has been the undoing of Ghana! Part 2 may show you why.
