  Am not surprised that Joshua Alabi that Ofiri can manipulate things. He in very canning and corrupt. When he was mistakenly appointed as the council chairman of accra polytechnic, he condoned with all other council chairmen of the remaining 9 polytechnics and made himself the chairman of polytechnic council chairmen. He used this to dictate to the governing councils of all the polytechnics in Ghana. We must rise against such manipulations and stop these power drunk guy from destroying our polytechnics. So am not surprised he is doing this in UPS. It is his stock in trade to manipulate people working with him to his advantage. So I entreat the staff of UPS to rise against such practices.

  How and why is a PhD preferred to a DBA in academia? Is the writer saying that DSc. and DPH are both less preferred to a PhD? This is the first time I am hearing such balderdash.

  UPSA-University of Professional Studies Accra. Why will a PhD be preferred to a DBA in a bussiness subject acdemia. I smell what happend to Steve Addei in GINPA developing in UPSA. After Josuah Alabi has chaged the institutions, got it upgraded to a university and improved the physical infrastructure, it's time to hound him out. Same was done to Steve Addei when he changed GIMPA. If the University Council promoted Mrs Alabi, why blame the man who has only one vote on the council. Let Josuah complete his work and retire in peace and not get out through such stupid write ups. By the way, I had listend to Mrs Alabi on TV, and find her brilliant in her own ways. It is a crime to promote a brilliant person over those 'I Come here long' ones who will not improved themselves in any way? Shame on you Tamara Kofi...without a Surname.

  If this is really true then I wonder where our university systems are heading to. I expect the National Accreditation Board to wake up and straighten things. I don't know of any university where someone can just rise from a lecturer's position to an Associate Professor. How many years has she taught at university level and how many peer reviewed articles has she published? Who are the external assessors? There are so many questions to be answered. I repeat if this is true, then the university is polluting the hard earned reputations of professors in Ghana.

  Some of us have pointed out this mischief long ago. Even Alabi's own promotion to the rank of Professor is a suspect. These are people who published in journal whose authenticity cannot be guaranteed. In the first his wife cannot even qualify as a lecturer at any serious university (like University of Ghana and Cape Coast University) where promotion is based on credible publications in world class journal, not the type of Indian journals where your articles are not reviewed once you paid four hundred dollars. People of Alabi's calibre publish articles every month. It is important for the government to intervene to prevent people from climbing to the top through dubious routes. In the end government has to pay large amount of money as salaries to people who in reality do not deserve it. Let's wake up!!!

  The hardworking lady did her first degree in cape Coast university , Completed her Mphil in legon and her doctorate at the swiss management university. Prof Alabi did not award her all these degrees. She started lecturing since 2005, became a senior lecturer in 2008 and associate professor in 2012. from her Cv she has more that 20 academic peer review publication with majority of them international. She is a consultant to the EU as well as the Association of African Universities.Is that how we pay hard work and excellence. I pity our country Ghana. She was my lecturer

  personally the only lecturer in upsa is madam Goski. unless you were looking for chew pour and pass then you will choose corrupt/womanizer Charles barnor. as a former student myself, i have few perspectives to share. i absolutely believe that my former TQM lecturer is extremely competent and will do very well if given the chancellorship. however i don't think it should be handed to her on a silver platter i believe she will prevail if the selection process is fair.
