Well, well,the phenomenon of spirit child really exist but is not true that the practice started just 1975 as published in this media,and again goes to point to as an ancient practice.Yes it is an ancient cultural practice, it did not just started in this modern times where education has already gotten influence on the cultural practices of the people.
Also the mercy killings does not just happen as reported,in fact some of the people interviewed though lived in the village but are not properly knowledgeable about the happening surrounding the spirit child phenomenon.The whole conspiracy goes on silently unnoticed by most of the community's dwellers.Pronouncing death sentences do not just come on perceived evil children but the village soothsayer's services are sorted to determined how the whole process should be done,in fact it is these soothsayers who are been manipulated by evil spirits that pronounces death sentences on these innocent children labeling them spirit children.It means it is not just the physical signs alone but the 'Baba-Lawo" that is the spiritualist who gives the final verdict that this particular child is evil before other actions can be followed.Care should be taken when dealing with this topic.Do not distort facts as how slave trading has been distorted. My guest embarassed them by explaining my mindset and why I was a victim in the US. Due to championing Africa's cause and people being jealous of my wisdom of Africa. He also told them my eye cost more than their income for 5 yrs.
