You came to leave insults and attempts to denigrate me all over a piece I wrote, and following my resolve not to ignore jerks like you who just come to leave one liner insults on posts, I upbraided you appropriately. Everybody can see that you started it. The least they can say is that I should not lower myself into the mud-pit of pigs like you to grab some mud to throw at you too and hence dirty hands too. I try to keep my face clean though while I stuck yours in the mud and stamp on it. Only language cretins like you understand!

Why don't you just criticise what I wrote and leave my poor person alone? My poor person is several times more august and of a better pedigree than your pathetic, cowardly self who can't even use your real names! For a long time, when some people who really knew my family background said that they knew a "Kwawukume" and they were this and that, I'd say, "Oh! We are just namesakes. Heard of them." Had a girlfriend once who didn't even know my surname; thought it was "Kay".

You see, when S. Africa was getting Apartheid, my father was appointed as their first African Administrative Manager, with 20 whites under him, not to mention the scores of African staff. It is a pity he committed class suicide on behalf of all of us and renounced wealth and material things, a tradition I have followed. I measure my wealth and worth in the number of books I have read and ideas I have for humanity.

When I wrote a polemical thesis challenging the immigration and educational policies of the Norwegian govt, it set in chain events which led to changing their immigration legislation. I just want my mouth to hold the calabash properly and then I'd take on the world. Right now, I am just flexing my muscles.

Didn't work out as planned 'cos some Nigerian hoodlums took over the shop in my absence and turned it into a 419 centre, etc. It's been one long nightmare, as the Police have refused to do something serious about the situation, since they need crime too to justify their existence and stop the budget cuts.

My Nigerian associates had told me a long time ago that I wouldn't get rich the way I am. I refused to help them move dodgy monies or defraud credit card companies through my business for a cut. I like it that way: I sleep soundly!

You know what? I can return to Ghana empty handed and won't starve nor sleep in the open. If it comes to the worst, I can go to Anloga and retrieve our grandpa's shallot beds and go into cultivation of vegetables and potatoes for the hostel industry! Earlier last year, I asked my mum what she was doing about her farm beds some relatives were farming without making any "akonta". She retorted? "Do you want to come and farm them? What are you people doing about your grandfather's beds?" I laughed and she laughed and we both agreed that those farming them also need to eat and we can eat and clothe ourselves without asking them to make akonta to us. After all, our children won't even need them in the future!

Material things you blokes call "achievements" don't matter to some of us.

I wrote an article on a serious issue afflicting we Africans and some of you can only come to attack m eon personal things, including some claiming to have PhDs! Bah! Uncivilised nonentities! That's why Torgbui [Sri II] told Gbedemah and Nkrumah that they should leave one white man for him when they came for support to get independence for the Gold Coast.

Ewe public figures can be written about and criticized like one would do about any public figure who does wrong. It is unfair to criticize them BECAUSE they are Ewes. The wrongs our politicians are doing to us cannot be denominated in ethnic terms. An academic like you should not come down to the petty words used to describe ethnic groups by non-academics on this forum. We expect something better from you. An Ewe public figure who does wrong should be criticized because of the wrong he or she has done, not because someone else also insults Akans. What has Keta school boys and akple got to do with the important discussion of the plight of the ordinary Ghanaian? It is in the same way as what Asantes eat has nothing to do with that subject. Educated ones like you should raise the level of the discussion above petty name calling.

Some of the issues touched on by Andy in this article are dear to your own heart. And he has made some points worthy of taking up. But because the man is in your bad books (as Awoonor is) you don't seem to see that.

And your academic training should enable you to see that if Ewes, generally, are not as boastful as Akans or flaunt the wealth they have the way Asantes, in particular, do, that is not a sign of their lack of self-confidence. These guys simply have different values!!! And you know better than to say that someone's values are better than another person's. Are you not a sociologist?

There are a lot of seriously poor people in the world yet they don't commit these evil acts. So Andy I beg to differ on your assersion of socio-economic dimension. Neither were the 9/11 culprits. You can't win any arguments with those types and/or change their minds.

These rich, upper and middle class men take advantage of the frustrations of poor people, uninformed vulnerable and discontented young men, some of whom even come from middle class homes. As is the case with religion, even rich people can fall prey to the religious cults, charlatans and conmen. Certain factors predispose them to that. Those are the factors covered by the "socio-economic" conditions, and the poor and uninformed are the ones most at risk. They form the recruits for the bigger problem.

Do we think Al-Shabab and terrorists in general can tell the Ewe from the Asante?

Our people must learn to separate "tribal" fantacies from potential issues capable of destroying. We need to do something serious about our educational system. It's a shame.

Anyway, bravo to you, Andy, for another brilliant piece. Let's learn to pay attention to real the issues.

Dovetailing them like that certainly is confusing for those who are not familiar with the subject and the associated discourse.

Part 2 is direct to the point and so actually answered directly to the heading, as you'd see. That's where the meat is, not the introduction which covers a wide ranging number of issues in anticipation of the usual responses and objections. I can see some already but I had tackled them in Part 2.

As for Akadu and Co., there is hardly anything we can do to help them. As more and more people get informed, they lose those who cheer them on. In fact, some of those expected followers will even turn on them, as happened on Okyeame years back in the 1990s. Unfortunately, Ghanaweb's anonymity has allowed many to hide under monikers to continue their nonsense. I shall soon serve them some hot dishes to digest.
