  You won't get more than 1-2% on 5 year bond in usa..Car loans are being advertized by credit unions for 1,75%..30 year home loans are 4% and the evil credit cards are 12%...And Ghana has been saved from monetary failure????? ...

  You won't get more than 1-2% on 5 year bond in usa..Car loans are being advertized by credit unions for 1,75%..30 year home loans are 4% and the evil credit cards are 12%...And Ghana has been saved from monetary failure????? All the banks and credit unions are rushing to ghana because of the huge profits..They can borrow in usa or europe for 2% and lend in Ghana for 30%

"On his part the managing director of Golden Pride savings and loans Mr Johnson Boadi Asamoah said in their quest to bring banking services closer to the people who really need it , and that Golden Pride cooperate office that they are inaugurating is not just adding just another edifice to the landscape of Obuasi , but rather see the building as a catalyst to bring revolution in the way ,with a call on SMEs in the peri-urban centre’s need to engage with Golden Pride as an excellent provide of financial services to help grow local economy thereby creating sustainable employment sources."

  Columnist Maxwell Okamafo Asamani Addo captured this statement by the Veep. (new focus of government is intended to ensure that the country is able to establish a finance system that offers opportunities for Ghanaians to thrive in the quest for economic empowerment and improvement in the quality of their lives) the Veep. as stated was addressing members of the mining industry at the official launch of the Golden Pride Savings and Loans Limited.
  
  Your Excellency Kwesi Amissah Arthur, I think myself and most Ghanaians are not interested in Rhetoric.
  
  In as much as I support NDC and it policies I think we should be realistic here:
  • Ghana is Africa's 2nd largest gold producer, producing 80.5 t in 2008.
  • According to the Bank of Ghana, exports of gold amounted to $1.5 billion in the first three months of 2012.
  
  However Ghana do not have a gold refinery, Over 150 years of mining gold in Ghana, Ghana still export raw gold to foreign lands for refinery and these companies who are bent in exploiting us declare how much ounces (Moz) they made from refining the gold and pay revenues to government. Pathetic isn’t it…
  
  Ashanti greenstone belt is Ghana most productive region, it is said that Over 125 Moz of gold has been discovered in the Ashanti belt, making it one of the world’s most prolific gold producing areas, including world class deposits at Obuasi, Tarkwa and Prestia. But Oooo my God…. when you visit these areas you will now understand the sentiment behind me writing this article.
  
  For Christ seek let all of us Ghanaians face the fact, enough of Rhetorics let us be realistic.
  
  Government reforms should reflect in the creation of Jobs, peaceful environment, empowerment of the youth to upgrade their skills and we should stop politicising very issue.
  
  I finally want to end this article with a quote from Desmond Tutu (What is black empowerment when it seems to benefit not the vast majority but an elite that tends to be recycled?) Let us think about this:...................
