We do not have our communal good at heart and each one wants to make it big and show off to their neighbour. We steal from one another and everybody wants to be call a chief, or Professor, or Reverend Doctor Professor Apostle, or worst still HONOURABLE. Shame

  Good Article but i think if we reaaly want to Develop we need to avoid tribalism,discrimination against each other, and stop Chief system since the chief dont bring anything useful to the people,i said this because a country cannot develop with two governing body (Govmt in other side chiefs in other side) but this is my opinion. having a good and reliable opposition to check Goverment in power,givind all kind of opportunity to the people,educating the Ghanaians to take leadership of all works,educating Ghanaians to understand the important of their Resource and it value,
  Many of us dont really understand the Value of our resource and also we dont know the important of ourself and this lead us not taking care of our resource and not liking each other if we dont come from same tribe. understanding and working very closely with each other is one of the pillar for Developments. we Have to learn to work for ourself this is very important. Many Ghanaians dont like working for a Ghanaian but Rather choose to work for Chinese instead. working for Chinese means that,that Chinese would never used that income to develop Ghana.
  they rather have to work for us if they come to our country. thats why we need to learn how to manage our Resource and business.

We have a naation to develop yes but we have mony more peopel we need to lift out of pverty before we even come close to that. Alos we are a DEMOCRACY unlike the UAE we should take pride in that. the oil money should eb used to make indrsty to help us when the oil goes.

  Mercy with our so-called system of education that sees no good in our own citizens and teaches us how POOR we are and how we can't think for ourselves in our own languages (other than someone else's), whilst we are sitting on riches enviable to the world............then I am sorry to say, GHANA WILL NEVER BE LIKE ABU DHABI.
  
  Ghana is sitting on rich resources that nations could kill for.
  But our mind-sets drawn up from our decades of colonialists education system informs us otherwise. All we believe in and see is POVERTY!!!!
  And the means of acquiring that kind of education - the lingo in itself, keeps us INFERIOR to others.
  
  Please explain why we love foreigners (especially those with different colour skins to ours) so much, than our own citizens? Yes! This is deep!
  
  We were divided and ruled over (and still are) and enslaved for decades....all because of our rich natural resources.
  
  Even now the slave mentality is still in existence in most of our core education systems that makes it impossible for us to shift, to see the good in our own selves.
  
  So Mercy Adede Bolus........a cocktail of all the above is what has formed the mind-set of the African, let alone the Ghanaian. Africa has everything the developed countries depend on so.........WARS AND POVERTY is encouraged through certain hidden hands, as warned by Osagyefo.
  
  We can only match Abu Dhabi's transformation if we free our minds of mental slavery to eliminate the collaborators in the form of our so-called leaders who are willing to sell us cheap to enrich themselves.
  
  If we had listened to Nkrumah and kept him.........we would have been way ahead of Abu Dhabi. Where were they when Osagyefo was putting up universities, communities, hydro electric power systems, oil refineries etc. etc.?
  
  Now we have an oil find and a stooge goes to negotiate 11% on Ghana's behalf whilst his two cronies gets 1%??? If that is not slave mentality, then I don't know what is?
  
  The Arabs, first and foremost take pride in themselves. They speak and educate themselves in their own lingo.
  They do not take fools gladly and are not mentally enslaved.
  Their resource of oil deals and its recovery were negotiated to their advantage and with the vision they have....transformed their regions.
  
  NKRUMAH was way ahead of them and what did we do? Our own people collaborated with the powers interested in OUR RICH NATURAL RESOURCES overthrew him. If that is not slave mentality, what is?
  
  Until we eradicate and emancipate ourselves from MENTAL SLAVERY, we will NEVER be like Abu Dhabi.............
  IN THE ABUNDANCE OF WATER, THE FOOL IS THIRSTY - (THAT IS GHANA).
  
  IN THE SCARCITY OF WATER, THE WISE IS FULFILLED - (THAT IS ABU DHABI).

Majority of homes in the USA are at least remodeled twice in its life time all of that assist the economy and keeps people employed. Something has to be done about things like this to begin the development of the nation.

With the current corrupt politicians, Civil and pubilc servants, I think we are on a fast track to the Nigerian Side. Is sad that our so call educated politicians don’t seems to know what they are doing. I leave in the UK and if what I hear and read online is really whats going on Ghana then am afraid Ghana will be far worst than Nigeria. But I hope there would be serious thinkers who will start planning for the future.we have all the resources to develop into a huge ecomony, Is a challenge and I hope Ghanaians back hope will start thinking. We should earn the respect of the west not for sympathy, and by earning their respect it being independent and managing your resources well. I hope there is still hope for our beloved mother land. God bless Our Homeland Ghana.

  Abu Dhabi had 2.3 million people and UAE produces at least 2.65 million barrels per day.
  
  Do you not think this is the reason they were able to develop at the rate in which they did?
  
  
  How much oil does Ghana produce, and what is Ghana's population? More importantly, where is the political will and stategic plan laid down for an Abu Dhabi to emerge?
  
  I dont know, with a population of over 160 million you expected Nigeria to be like Abu Dhabi by now....lol
  
  Nigeria will get there, but it wont be because of oil.We are realising this now and more importantly our leaders are realising their mistake, the same one you in Ghana are now making.
  
  Nigeria is making strides in redevelopment of roads, power sector, ports and oil refineries and more importantly agriculture. This is with a planned view of national development. It spans the whole country........
  
  If you think Nigeria is the same old Nigeria of old, and will ever be, then you are closing your eyes to the developments being made.
