I agree with you all the way. I also prefer a taller goalkeeper like Kwarasey who is very active in the Norwegian league and is also the captain of his team. Contrast that with Dauda who apart from his brilliant work during CAN 2013 has not maintained that form and looked very shaky during the Zambian game. I think he is suffering from the fact that he has not settled in well with his new team and not getting playtime there. I root for Kwarasey. He is the more dependable of the two at the minute.

Cosh, I sincerely hope that more people like yourself will come up here and state the obvious. Our best gooalie is Kwarasey no doubt. He is better than Dauda in all departments. He is taller for starters, he is calmer, he anticipates better, he is an equally good shot stopper, and is the more imposing of the two because of his build. The only fault Kwarasey had was his inability to decide on what to do with corner kicks. That can be rectified and I think he already has as a matter of fact. I can therefore so no good reason as to why he should not be reinstated as the no 1 especially as Dauda has lost his form and is not a regular in his new team. It just makes sense to go for Kwarasey this point in time.

The Stallion, I agree with you on your choice of whom should be used in this coming match. On problem now is that Fatau Dauda is still warming the bench in South Africa. Since he arrived and got his work permit, he hasn't been allowed to keep the poles. Such things have effect on goalkeepers and I hope it wouldn't on our number one keeper.
Adam, if I see him between the poles in the coming match, I wouldn't be surprise because he is working hard for it. I read from Mr. N talking about his language. That is not a problem. The keeper speaks english and so are our back four. He just need experience in how to control the defense that is all.
We have good keepers and by and by, they will be great for us.

I was full of ecstasy when Adam Kwarasey was handed his first game.Which was Ghana vrs Brazil.
I really adored him. Even though the said game was his first time in poles for Black Stars, i saw some special traits in him.
No goalie is perfect.Yes because no goalie in History possess all the following traits. one on one , aerial ability, good reflexes, alertness , agility and good position and good ball distribution.
No Goalie in history can boast of all these 7 qualities. Good keepers have 6 and lack 1. Fabian Barthez was very good on one -on -one , aerial ability, good reflexes, agility and good ball distribution but he had problem with alertness and position. That was why most of the goals which he conceded were Long shots.
Petr Cech in good in aerial ability, good reflexes, alertness , agility and good position and good ball distribution but lacks one -on one trait. Readers should watch the goals he concedes and 85 percent is on one-on-one situations which will never beat Fabian Barthez.
So even though i knew Kwarasey had problem with his one-on-one saves through the goal Neymah scored.I was happy because i saw he had good reflexes through some saves he made on the day including the wonderful Free kick he saved from RONALDINHO.
On subsequent matches i was astonished when i watched the same goalie in AFCON 2012 because my happiness due to the fact that we have found a good keeper was short lived.
I saw Kwarasey lacked aerial ability because most of the crosses that came his way he fumbled in collecting them.
The worse scenario was the game against Mali in AFCON 2012.
At the same tournament he displayed his lack in one-one saves, agility, as well as positioning.Guinea equalizer would never beat FATAU if he was to be in poles.Above all his ball distribution when we talk of giving long passes to his colleagues is a suspect as every ball he kicks finds it way to opponent.
So my question is, do you people think KWARASEY in poles when we are going to play a team like Eqypt who will relay on crosses is the best?It gonna be doom for Ghana if Kwarasey is used in our game against the Pharaohs of Egypt.

Ras, fatau still on bench and I'm afraid if nothing is done to him during their camping, he may loose everything including all the seven qualities you mentioned. That is my point. Our match against Zambia though, when you have time please watch it again, he didn't do that bad. He tried his best to hold on to most of the long range shots. It may not be at once but he managed. This is the reason why I have been picking him over my own friend Adam though sitting on the bench.
I just don't want to talk about Olele's own. What do you think, Ras?

Slim, Fatau has three qualities traits which makes him an average goal keeper but Kwarasey as at now is less than an average goal keeper. I am writing out of experience .I started as an amateur goal keeper with Richard Kingston. We were all keeping poles at any organized local gambling soccer games known as “MUNKYE NI” inside Teshie-Accra within the early 90’s. I was keeping poles for Under 12 while Kingston was with the Under 17.
Currently we are having a goal keeping problem in our national team and I agree perfectly with you that Fatau is somehow rusty. Moreover, goal keepers with height bellow 5 feet 4 inches is handicap because tall keepers have good diving power due to their height. That is why no European team will acquire the service of keeper with Fatau’s height. The only keeper I know with a good height who doesn’t use it to his advantage is KWARASEY.
Even though i don’t know the current form of Kingston, he has the record of bouncing back stronger anytime he is axed from the national team due to non-performance. A case in point is when he was axed from the Black star squad due to errors he committed in the World Cup qualifier against Burkina at Ouagadougou. He came back stronger than ever and was judged the third best goal keeper during the 2006 World cup
Who knows history could repeat itself ones again but Kingston’s at his worse is better than KWARASEY and Fatau.
I am not saying so out of sentiment because the performance of the national team is paramount so far as I am concern.
Fatau is better than the fine boy KWARASEY and Kingston at his worse is better than the two.
Let all of them come down and train then Kwasi Appiah will see who's better.I must add that the goal Fatau conceded against Zambia was a cheap goal.I was so furious.Ah. Slim so of us have wasted our talent ooooh.

I saw Egypt on a few videos and the love to send long passes behind the backline. The key is for midfielders to stay tight on the Egyptians at about the 30 meter mark. If you relax they will release the pass and time a perfect run creating a one on one situation with the goalie. I think that Akaminko is going to have to be more of a sweeper and stay back deep in this situaiton. I do not think we can play with a flat four in the back.

The No. 1 goalie for the BS should amd must be determined on the basis of "current form". Fatau is busy keeping the bench very warm at Orlando Pirates while Adam has been playing. The least said about Ole, the better.
