Is it not so that the private universities have their certificates awarded by the public varsities? I hear Central university's certificates are awarded by UCC. if so UCC will ensure that the standards are equal to what they apply to lend their name to the private university. Or are you saying because the private varsities take people with poorer grades, they necessarily churn out poorer graduates? Then UCC should not smear their own name by giving them their seal of approval.
The thing is that university education is a total mess in Ghana. Even in the established universities, there's grade inflation. How can 200 people get first class in the university of Ghana Business school alone and almost the rest getting second upper? Some of them will surely not get jobs immediately!
But the article is talking about newly graduated people in the work force who start stealing directly!

Yes university education is becoming meaningless in Ghana if research is being neglected. What graduates are interested in are their pockets.

Nowadays students start paying bribe before they are given admissions, they pay again to get good grades before graduating, so tell me how you think they would come out clean to fit in a corrupt system. God help us all.

In my humble view, I think all aspects of education in Ghana from the kindergarten to the highest level of the education ladder-the universities needs to be reformed and now.The way our degrees are being awarded should be looked into. The education reforms being advocated should take into consideration our social and political histories, our environment, our culture and our cherished values, etc.

Personally I won't single out. Are all in the ministries fir NDC? What about those at our ports? Police? Banks? We must the fact here and stop shifting blames. Every person suppose to accept his or her responsibility and change then the nation can change.

Frank, you're right. Stephen is clearly partisan. He thinks the problems of the country are NDC's alone but both NDC and NPP are to blame for them. In fact, NPP is more chop chop than NDC. Now NDC is learning from NPP how to chop and hide the tracks. NPP has many educated people and lawyers who know how to steal nicely and cover their tracks well well. And now NDC is also adopting the same tactics. They learned it from NPP.
God help us from both NDC and NPP!!!

Corruption in Ghana as of now is very sad, the individual Ghanaian is the victim of its consequencies.
They talk of it everyday but just saying it for saying sake. Mr. Owusu you are point but they will never put it into consideration, believe me.
However, corruption will still prevail and hunt Ghana as there is no reasonable and right way to curb it.

This is exactly our biggest problem. (Office Table Robbery). The sad part of this situation is that it is seen as a normal practice. So the solution never comes and therefore our poverty always deepens.
