"We had forgotten that Kwesi Appiah had deservingly been captain of the senior national team for a few years, until conspirators took the honor away from him and gave it to an egotistic Abedi Pele just before Senegal 1992." Good players make a coach. Dont be so silly in exaggerating the competence of Appiah. He is only a Kotoko hero. He never played at any higher level like Abedi and was never an African best award winner.

Give credit where it is due and stop being so stupid and lose talker. Do you have to play in Europe to be at the highest level? Did Pele play in Europe? but how does the world see him? May be you aren't a football fun. i guess you are one of the guys who praised ciaude leroy for deploring Essien as a centre back in our semi final match during CAN 2008. did you see what Appiah did with Sulley and ESSIEN yesterday? only a good coach can contemplate that. if you need to be schooled on some football basics, i will be at your service

Until i read the part that concerned Abedi Pele, I thought what I had read so far was excellent.
you see Danny, Abedi Pele is a national hero and thus, care must be taken not to vilify him in our quest to project the image of our coach, Akwasi Appiah.
Abedi Pele did not proclaim himself captain of the Black Stars in 1992 and consequently cannot be blamed for what happened. In any case this is a dead issue so why resurrect it at a time when all Ghanaians are basking in our victory over the Egyptians?
To me, regardless of the fact that your article seeks to highlight the successes of Akwasi Appiah, the reference to 1992 was ill-timed, unnecessary and a potentially divisive . At this crucial stage, all Ghanaians need to rally behind our boys and offer them moral support in order to ensure that our march to Brazil 2014 becomes a reality. Please, let's refrain from rocking the boat unnecessarily,

Mr Price, sorry but your article is a gross oversimplificatuion of the issues. The reasons why some of us were against his appointment was not because he was, as you put it, a native born darkie or some such description. Many of us felt he had not done enoughg as a coach to deserve to coach the Black Stars. Some people felt being an assistant coach to the same Eastern coaches you so vilify in your article was enough to make one a Black Stars coach or winning an All-African under 23 competition was enough. Some of us did not agree. We needed someone who had considerable personal experience in building teams. Please go and check the CVs of all the countries that have qualified for the woeld cup and you will understand a bit more what the argument was. We are happy he has done well, but this is hardly the time to start gloating. We all hope he takes us at least to the quarter final of the world cup, then you will be free to go over the top.

I wouldn't call this article GREAT. It is a good article though for the fact that it takes us back to see what giving opportunities can do. It is also good in reminding us of trust in ourselves. This article is pointing out the importance of relying on ourselves, and also we should appreciate what is at hand, holistically.
Here is the reason it shouldn't be termed as a great article. The article some of the points mentioned may brings division. Here is one. This is a day of togetherness, therefore, bringing such an article wouldn't help. Remember, when the country's national team is appointing a manager, it doesn't matter whether that country is among the best football nations, the would be division of choices. Each one has his choice of a coach he thinks could do a better job for the country. So when others point out their favorite with tangible reasons, that doesn't mean that group of people hate the other choices brought by the authorities. As a citizen, one has the right to voice out his or her opinion. It is up to the governing body of the football organization to make a decision based on its resources. I always say this and let me repeat. Agreeing and disagreeing bring the best out of what we have. However, as soon as a coach or a player is appointed or invited and a final decision is made, we have no more argument to do but to rally behind the decision makers.
This is what the writer missed. Yes, some of us, and I'm included, were calling the name of Marcel Desailly to lead the nation team as the head coach. I don't see anything wrong with that. He was some of us preference. After Appiah was appointed we have had to team together and support him. That is what a country should be. We all can't agree on one thing otherwise there will be no progress.
Now here is the most important reason I stood on disagree of the article being great. Calling Abedi Pele egotistic was not right. This too can bring a division both in the country and in the Black Stars camp. Remember, his children are part of this victory. Andrea Ayew played so well yesterday by keeping focus. He wasn't holding unto possessions too long as he used to.
You see you can't make statements that would bring division in the country. Don't forget that division brings subtraction but not addition. What I'm saying is where there is division, those with wisdom tend to isolate themselves from that gathering. As a result, subtraction of the wise occurs. Now tell me, which society, organization, village, town, city, or country could properly be governed when there are no men with wisdom?
For these reasons, I termed this article good but not great.

You got it all wrong the perception of justice and injustice tabled above when 'fr3fr3kobo' is the scheme of things in the application/formation of the GBS' assignments.
Currently, it is conspicuously enshrined in the MRAA Law: It is only the best out there that would be called into action. No compromise, favouritism whatsoever.
Means, whenever the time comes, I mean the time for "Many are called but few are chosen" gets here, the controversial KPB would be called if he meets the requirement.
Isn't all about "Y3n ara y'asaaseni, 3y3 abOde dema y3n, mogya a Nananom hwieegu detoo hO maa y3n. Adu me ne woso so s3 Y3B3Y3 BI ATOA SO"?

"Baboon has always toiled, OOPS! worked for the jackass monkey to always come to chop."
Ain't that a natural phenonmenon?
Who fought for who, and who continued
for who?
Hanza now.
If it would take MRAA the gut to remove Captain busybee Gyan and replace him with PeteBroni de KPB for TeamGhana to succeed, so be it.

If we had listened to him and kept hom in power, the World Cup would have been ours by now. It reminds me of when he appointed C.K. Gyamfi to coach the Black Stars.....the rest is history.
Sellas Tetteh won the under 20 World Cup too. So, we still can't get what Nkrumah meant, then I am afraid we will achieve nothing in our lives.
But complacency should not creep in here! It's not over yet!
I hope Kwasi Appiah has put to sleep the need for foreign coaches. YES! WE CAN! And can win the World Cup if we put OUR minds to it. I SALUTE YOU, KWASI!

Now here we are, the Waltulization ship is still sailing on, though it hasn't reach it destination yet but we have seeing the shore of Brazil from the distance.
First, coach MRAA & his assistant deserves IMMEDIATE pay raise without any question.
Now all those whose think it is only "White man" who can lead us to see the light in everything has being proven WRONG! There is no need to condemned anyone for their believes, but it is time for them to wake up from their darkness of thinking and come and see the light.
I am still "KojoLee@Delimma-Situation" because of KPB sage. I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to coach MRAA to let go of KPB because he has CAPABLE, DEDICATED, PATRIOTIC AS WELL AS READY TO DIE FOR THIER COUNTRY players for Brazil.
Let those who has work hard and sweated wipes their faces with Brazil qualification handkerchiefs. The clear message has to be send as a warning that, NO BODY IS BIGGER THAN GHANA BLACK STAR,
Well done coach MRAA & his technical men, well done Black Star and finally, I thank all my forum comrades who stood firmly with us in support for walatulization.
Let us all support the team till they reach shore.

sometimes i wonder of some of you deserve to be acknowledge or simply be ignored. you are so pathetic. so ignorant, naive and uneducated that you dont even know the core duties and responsibilities of a football manager. By the way, for how long have you being watching or simply put, follwing football? i guess not long. let me school you for free, no charges, but you can thank me.
first there are oveer 50, 000 Ghananaian footballers. who invited the 23 players? who decided to start Dan Opare at LB, when Kwadwo Asamoah could have palyed as LB, aterall that is what he does in Conte's three man defenders at Juve. why was Essien and Muntari deployed just as shield to the defenders when Essien could have been used as CB, just as Le Roy did in CAN 2008 SEMI FINALS. Who told the palyers to play long unsuspecting balls in to the third half og the Pharoah's, when they could have just played simple short passes. Again, why did Asamoah Gyan and Warris decided to take on Gomah anytime they had the ball at their feet? i can continue to tell you more and more but i can see you are at see. this is what we call TACTICS and GAME PALN in football. i guess this you first time of hearing it or maybe you've heard it on radio but you've never understood it. Anyway these were all done by AKWASI APPIAH, if you care to know, sucker!! Players may have the skills and the ability to play well but the manager plans how they play. Bad game plan and tactics can render a palyer ineffeective. i know you dont have a football eye, i'm sorry.
if you wish t get more football tutorials for free,i can be of help, moron.

Only you did not see that the coach was continuously orchestrating his charges' moves from the touch line. What about the excellent substitutions he brought on in the second half? We you know what? Talking about situations that need to be corrected- Now that African soccer matches are being featured on the international spotlight, like yesterdays great match on comcast, I would like to state my absolute objection to the deplorable state of the field. One cannot espect to be taken seriously if one does not deserve to be. Please fix these fields because they say bad things to the world about our standards.

Compatriots,
Coach Kwesi Appiah speaks perfect English. It is not Appiah who must improve his English, but the journalist who write's this message!
I have often thought how lucky Ghana is to have an articulate native Ghanaian coach who is so well-spoken.
However, I am not so sure of the writer of this piece, Daniel K Pryce. His otherwise excellent article - praising Coach Appiah's brilliance to coach the Black Stars to beat Egypt 6-1 yesterday, is unfortunately marred by two avoidable errors.
He displays unnecessary, unsubstantiated prejudice against the name of Ghana's equally brilliant football hero, Abede Pele:
'Kwesi Appiah had deservingly been captain of the senior national team for a few years, until conspirators took the honor away from him and gave it to an egotistic Abedi Pele just before Senegal 1992.'
There is no critical value in drawing Abede into disrepute in this, otherwise, well written piece. By his carelessness some commentators might respond negatively and take the shine off Kwesi Appiah's hour of glory.
I cannot help, but to point out that Pryce's article is visited by what we call in the writing trade, 'printer's devil.' By an error of 'malapropism,' he misconstrues the meaning of 'jingoistic':
'Suddenly, I have become intensely aware of the “I told you so” affirmations by jingoists, such as Vice Ressien, who have always believed that Ghanaians must learn to trust their own to take them to the zenith of soccer glory.'
Usually the noun 'jingoism', is used in the sense of aggressive patriotism in foreign policy. Practically, it implies the threat to use military force against another.
His malapropism (use of incorrect 'jingoistic' in place of 'patriotic,' is grammatically wrong. He meant to say, 'affirmations by patriots', rather than 'affirmations by jingoists'
Lastly, who the hell is, 'Vice Ressien'?
Just a little literary exercise to wake me up this morning - take no notice!

I think it is healthy to avoid "group think" hence the place of even naysayers in our midst.
