There is currently no difference b/n the NPP and the republican party. The entire NPP apparatus was originally formed as an antagonistic structure to oppose Nkrumah and the CPP. The NPP went sober after Nkrumah was dethrone, It reemerged again as an antagonistic structure to the Rawlings led P/NDC which slowly morphed into an ethnic grouping consisting of extreme Akyem and Asante ethnic supremacist.

NDC is not the best for Ghana but they keep wining power from the NPP because they are sticking to the CPP strategy..that is going for any potential voter irrespective of tribe or level of education whiles since 92 NPP's strategy has been Akan whiles openly singing the nationalistic tune.

They keep singing the song of been a national party but that does not reflect in the parties internal structure nor leadership hierarchy.It is even compounded by the pronouncements of their media men. Even withing the Akan, power and decision making had solely remained fully in the hands of the Asantes and the Akyems.

Whiles NDC was once an Ewe controlled party they realized that that was never going to help them win any election in Ghana. Smartly NDC leaders opened the leadership to all potential and capable Ghanaians irrespective of tribe or length of family ties. The Ewe myth in the NDC was finally demystified when Atta Mills sidelined the Rawlings from his govt.

The NPP party is now trying to go through the kind of reformation the NDC went through..that is when intolerant ethnic arrogant bitter supremacist like Okoampa, Adofo, Akadu, Katakyie anc co realize that the anti Ewe thing will no longer work for them, neither is their reliance on Akan going to work. The Republican party has realized that their violence and discriminatory acts will no longer do the trick. The entire world is moving away from right wing supremacist based political parties.

The Akan is more diverse than they realize and all Akans can never and will never be Asante/Akyem. Its so sad to see the NPP support base remain in mainly two regions because the supremacist do not know how to eat the humble pie, come down on their horse and do the right thing.

Their attacks on the minority especially Ewes continues unabated, what they however forgot is people arent stupid for the other minorities are fully aware they may be next on their radar because all supremacist act the same the world over. They go after their identified supposed minority, then next, and next till everything goes their way.

The way forward, the NPP has to open the leadership of the party to all Ghanaians irrespective of tribe or length of family ties, and they should also control their media men in both Ghana and abroad. The parties internal structure and leadership hierarchy says a lot to the average voter, it is not what you say to persuade voters but what they see.

You can disagree with me all you want but the elections since 92 says it all.

Both Presidents Bush did more for Ghana then Clinton and Obama ever dreamed of doing. Obama has done shit for Ghana. George Bush gave millions for HIV aid and mosquito netting than any US President.

And have you thought about this: the NDC "wins" the same way Republicans have gerrymandered their districts to keep their seats safe; or how NDC like the Republicans appeal to the uninformed through misinformation and lies? Better yet, what is so flattering to suggest that NDC=Democrats? Democrats are notorious for high taxes and out-of-control spending...I'm sure you and your NDC buddies can relate to that. My point is you can make the argument connecting both NDC and NPP to the US Republican (or Democratic) party in an unflattering way. If anything, the NPP is a good cross between Republicans and Democrats; they are for privatization/business, small government, prudent spending; and responsible social programs such as health and education. Lawrence, it worries me that you may someday become one of Ghana's leaders. If that comes to pass, I pray that you would refine your deductive reasoning/logic...God bless our homeland Ghana!
