  FDA in usa would do same thing..Tell you if there was recall of packaged food too! Unless they are on political witch hunts, give them more inspectors and scientist to check food and drugs for effective use and germs!

  tell me, do you think USA FDA would do this... NEVER! why is the FDA boss so determined to distroy tobinco. is it that THE FDA BOSS want something Tobinco is not willing to give. Why is FDA picking on TOBINCO ALONE, WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY UNREGISTERED DRUGS OUT THERE ON THE GHANAIAN MARKET. WHY WOULD FDA FAVOR FORIEGNERS AS AGAINST INDIGENEOUS GHANAIAN COMPANIES!

  Why should the president fire the FDA board? This is the organization that keeps an eye on drugs and chemicals made in and out of the country. They are the right people to do that job and any changes will smack of corruption.

From my little knowledge, I can say that all articles, especially the one written by a Pharmacist residing in the UK and the statement by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSG), against the FDA were misplaced and wholly unprofessional and selfish. The people who are calling on President Mahama to sack the FDA Board neither like themselves nor value their lives...."
  
  I think you did not get it. Or maybe, rather I did not get what you are trying to say.
  
  You mean to imply that the Ghana FDA DID WELL IN THIS TOBINCO CASE?
  
  I only follow the news based on what is published on Ghanaweb. And I am one of those who believe that the GHANA FDA is a useless body, judging from the TOBINCO CASE.
  
  Please educate me why the Ghana FDA should be retained - BASED ON THEIR HANDLING OF THE TOBINCO CASE.

This issue involves the LIVES of Ghanaians and all residents of Ghana. Is the president unaware of this. I have never heard any journalist ask of the president's opinion. In any serious civilized country, an issue of such dimension would have warranted some kind of response or comments from our head of state. Well, i guess our president delights in posing in front of billboards rather than commenting on such important national issue. So be it Mr PRESIDENT, it's your call.

  FDA should be commended for its work and not condemnded. The exchanges between FDA and Tobinco had been going on for some time and the PSG was stone silent. However when the pharmacist in the UK wanted to know why the PSC was silent, the PSG came out with a statement on the following day! PSG knows that Tobinco apologised for wrongdoing. PSG should advise its members to be honest instead of critising FDA. We need more 'FDAS' in our country!! Sometimes we wish we had honest public officers but when these turn up we feel very uncomfortable with them, to say the least.

  I have recently seen documents from a journalist that shows that the FDA boss allowed Tobinco Pharmaceuticals defer re-registration of its products until it has started manufacturing in Ghana. If that is so then the FDA is totally wrong for its actions on a local company. I bet you that there are a number of foreign (Indians and Chinese) companies in Ghana doing worse. This Pull Him Down (PHD) attitude is embarrassing.
