What the writer is saying is correct because in my school a lecturer has the guts to say that he can't wait 4 d strike to b called off so he can buy a new car, can u imagine! So u guys should try n open ur heads n thick b4 opening ur mouth. We r wasting time at home while we should b doing well with our time. They have given them some of the monies n promised to comply so what is the problem?they want their service years extended,they want allowances,they want salaries increased,they want to run the universities without the federal government,they want infrastructures they want this, they want that............I bet you if that money for infrastructure is given to them dey will use cheap contractors n spend d rest. Am nt saying infrastructure is bad but we r dealing wit selfish people that want to earn like politicians. If u want to earn like dat go to d field. Your view is an interesting one but, I can't blame asuu so much. This problems of strikes in our universities and educational sector can easily be averted if the right thing is done by our leaders and public office holders. The best way this problem can be solved is if a law is enacted compelling all public office holders( either elective or by appointments) should send their children to our public schools after all it's the publics money there eating. Then they'll know the right thing to do.
You say the lecturers are doing this for their selfish interest. But i'd wish all the teachers in the educational sector should embark on their own strike for better pay package. How much are our senators taking home for doing nothing, every month. Yet some of these people selected do not even have a first degree yet they're earning far better than those who moulds them to be what they are.

Isaac,tell our senators and representatives to forgo their allowances.Tell the coordinating minister and other ministers to sacrifies their allowances to education and health challenges so that we can have a better nigeria.Tell our president,Mr Gooodluck Jonathan and his loyalists to contribute their allowances to the nigerian economy so that there will be a better economy that can provide jobs for millions of nigerian graduates stranded at home without hope.Also,tell GEJ to forgo his 2015 political aspiration so that we can have a better government to take of nigeria.
We should think seriously before putting pen to paper and writing to destroy the personality of ASUU.
Lastly,who is insincere between ASUU and govt?Is President Jonathan that was chairman of the govt negotiating team and advised Late President Yaradua to sign the 2009 agreement with ASUU or ASUU who are saying implement the agreement you signed with us?Isaac,please think positively.

Permit me to ask, will this stop members of asuu from demanding for sorting and vitimizing those one that choose not to sort? Will this end the current admission problem? (which is now liken to american auction sales where the highest bidder goes with the goods), will this grant an opporunity for the Nigerian student to have a say in their different campuses as regard inccessant increment in tuition fees and other levies? Since their sole objective is to make Nigerian universities confortable for learning, let them com and start work with the billions already given to them. At the end if it is not enough they can demand for more. That wl show hw serious they are wit the project. But I doubt for Nigeria I know hw possible it will be for them to put that money into the aforementioned project. Alternatively, lecturing is stl a federal government job of which it is possible to sack all the lecturers and replace them with intelligent graduates who are jobless all over the country.

Lets focus on the lecturers only 20% do their job with passion, others don't even know their discipline well....they don't always come lectur venue n when they come they lectur for 15mins and leave of talking about their achievements, self praise. A whole lot of issues time will not permit me! We really need more better lecturers and an effective school administration system!!!
