  Do you really believe the fight against the corruption is being lost because of lack of institutional provisions or resources? We have the Internal Audit Service, the CID, the GRA, the SFO – just name it! So, is it not strange that corruption is so rife?
  
  Even if you used the most sophisticated gadgets and electronic tools to track corruption, you can bet your life that the operators of these tools will scale around these tools by simply not monitoring the outcome they way they should.
  
  Remember that every government department has an Internal Audit Unit, yet every year the Auditor-Generals report is always replete with irregularities that should have been prevented at the unit level
  
  It is practically impossible for the President to go flipping through ledgers in government departments, just to ensure compliance with basic accounting rules.
  
  It is not merely about the President of the Republic. Each and every one of us must understand that we are hurting ourselves by engaging in corruption because, somehow, our acts will come back to us in one form of the other.
