That is why prosperity preachers and healers are having a field day. By today's standards of Christianity apostle Paul,Peter and even Silas would be regarded as utter failures or even heretics since they seemed to "glory" in their "sufferings for Christ" and even "counted it all joy" to suffer trials, deprivations, tribulations and hardships for the sake of the gospel. Their gospel of living pure lives self denial , reaching out to the poor and needy now seem rather very alien to our ears.
