Haruna's comments were not an attack on Bawumia. All he was saying was Bawumia had the wrong message for the wrong occasion. This was a memorial lecture which would normally have a diverse attendance (i.e. people from both sides of the aisle). Why turn it into a political event and an attack where some people start to feel uncomfortable? Please use your common sense at times instead of all these unnecessary raw emotions. Bawumia can call a press conference to criticize the government anytime he wants. He shouldn't hide behind somebody's memorial lecture to do so. If he wants to be president, he needs to develop the confidence to go out into the public and talk instead of hijacking some other event to do that. I don't care what the title of the Lecture was. Let's grow up.

It is called a memorial lecturer and the normal practice at such forum is that the speaker is required to share insightful and provoking thoughts in his or her area of expertise. Alhaj Aliyu is said to have stood for Discipline and Bawumia was invited to speak on a topic of his choice, and he opted to speak on the fiscal indiscipline bedeviling the NDC government. It is as simple as that and only those who cannot stand the truth are those who feel uncomfortable about this.
As the writer said, it is highly hypocritical on the part of Haruna Atta to claim he was completely oblivious of what Bawumia was going to talk about. Perhaps, what he did not anticipate is that Bawumia would be very critical on the incumbent government. Haruna Atta only exposed himself by dissociating himself from the occasion and even telling everyone that the person he had voted for. This was uncalled for. I am still finding hard to hard to understand his real motives are.
On the other hand, I am surprised that the NDC are not speaking to the issues Bawumia raised which are all public knowledge. My friend would say: when people are intellectually challenged they resort to personal insult.

The crass hypocrasy of Ibrahim and the NPP degenerate politicians, is the noisy constant evil-minded criticism of Mahaha when all he is doing is to try and do something about the massive correction which was caused by the NPP in the first place. All the corruption being exposed by the Mahama administration can be squarely put at door step of the Kufuor administration. The NPP did not set up one single efffort to tackle corruption. Are they saying there was no corruption when Kufuor was in power? If Nana Addo had won the elections, all this nation wrecking massive corruption would have been swept under the carpet. Now under Mahama, drip by drip, the truth of massive corruption is coming out and the NPP is running around pointing fingers. It only means they haven't changed. Their tongue in cheek lies won't wash anymore. Their discredited political style has become irrelevant to Ghana politics and that was why they were repudiated at the polls. Their incessant rants portray their intrasigence in the face of resounding rejection by Ghanaians. It doesn't take an einstein to see the NPP are a pack of dilapidated crooks who precided over the abject dissipation of the economy.
