  The issues you raise are why I write these kinds of articles in the first place, that's, making good use of our creative men and women in Africa.
  
  I hope you read Parts l and ll of "A Great Ghanaian Scientist: Dr. Victor Lawrence," Akasi Martha Nzema?
  
  These two parts raised the same issues you are raising here, which are, why can't our African educational institutions create these brilliant men and women?
  
  Why can't we make them in Africa so that they can directly create jobs for Africans?
  
  What are the contitions in Africa that prevent such minds from living in Africa? And several others.
  
  Well, you don't have to live in Africa to help Africans or to create jobs for them. Dr. Lawrence's work has directly or indirectly created jobs for millions of people in the world including Africans.
  
  In fact, Ashifi Gogo's and Bright Simmons' inventions which are saving lives in the world are partly due to Dr. Lawrence's work. Then again, Gogo's and Simmons' inventions have created jobs for many people. So, you see how the chain works, by friend?
  
  The issue is making sure we indigenize these talents so that Africans can benefit the most from them.

It is good to hear about their exploits but some of us are not impressed because I know the talent in Ghana which is under-utilised. Thanks though for your expose of these high-fyers who are making the country proud. There are a lot of Nigerians in the same category.

  My good friend, I believe you are entitled to your opinions. But I hope you read this line:
  
  "And who says the African youth don’t need a positive role model in Lawrence, Mazama, Asante, Nyarko, and several others?" Again, I also hope you read the line "and several others" in the afore-cited quote.
  
  Besides, I did not write this to impress anyone. In other words, I don't write to impress readers. I have said this before, no one pays me to write these articles. I write for the fun of it.
  
  Meanwhile, the article's a response to many questions readers of "A Great Ghanaian Scientist: Dr. Victor Lawrence," Part l and ll, privately wrote me to address.
  
  These readers said the real work and achievements of Dr. Victor Lawrence did not come out well in both parts.
  
  Therefore, they wrote to ask me to explore with them answers to questions related to his real work (and other matters).
  
  In this context, your opinion as to Dr. Lawrence's achievements impressing you or not has no bearing on what these readers want to know about him. One reader even asked if I could provide more details on Dr. Lawrence as Wikipedia did not have any info on him. So, my good friend, this article is not for you!
  
  Namely, these readers wanted specific answers and I have tried to explian them as best I could. Besides, whether there are Nigerian or Togolese Dr. Lawrences has no consequence here.
  
  On the other hand, I personally promised Dr. Lawrence I was going to do another essay specifically tailored to his work. I keep my promises, you know.
  
  Then again, readers asked about Dr. Lawrence and I have tried to tell them what I know about him and his work. You don't expect me to be writing about world-famous scientists among Boko Haram or Jonathan Goodluck. Readers didn't ask about them. In fact, I have received a few private emails from Nigerians who have read the two essays.
  
  Yes, I know many across the African world who are doing great things. I can give you an "endless" list. But I did not find any Nigerian among those honored by the American National Academy of Invesntors.
  
  Again, Ghanaweb says we are to address issues directly affecting Ghana. But let me assure you that Dr. Lawrence stands taller when it comes to telecommunications.
  
  In fact, as one of the few respected authories on telecomunications in the world to have come directly from the African world, he's leading African telecommincation scientists TO address telecommunication problems on the continent.
  
  Try to read all the bibiographies I have cited in the article. When you are done, send me an email (franciskkwarteng@yahoo.com). I shall
  send you additional details on how African scientists (including those from Nigeria) are relying on his expertise to solve telecommunications probelms across Africa.
  
  Finally, I did not go to Legon (this has to do with a question you asked me in relation to "A Great Ghanaian Economist: Dr. Yaw Nyarko"). I went to KNUST and read mathematics.
  
  I don't have any professional training or schooling in economics. I read pure mathematics at KNUST. Also, Dr. Yaw Nyarko completed his first degree in 1982. I was in preparatory school at the time.
  
  On the other hand, I am impressed by Dr. Victor Lawrence and his immense contributions to society. There are many readers who have also expressed their profound appreciation of the man's and his work privateky to me, though the two essays I did on him barely scratched the surface. These readers based their conclusions on the limmited data I provided in the two essays.
  
  Interestingly, the American government and the world, respected American institutions, academic inventors are all impressed by his contributions to science and society. Therefore, do you think your opinion and mine matter? They don't.
  
  Finally, there are many Africans who received all the necessary training and education, probably more than what Dr. Lawrence received, yet have done nothing for Ghana, Africa, and the world.
  
  Possibly, Dr. Victor Lawrence may one day receive the Nobel Prize in Physics, for he has done so much for the world among his peer. Let's celebrate him.

Your works on Ghanaweb is definitely not for the consumption of dummies and I have said it one too many times that, with vast knowledge endowed to you by the Mighty one, you deserve to be president of Ghana but not those empty heads we have at the seat of the presidency who play on the minds of the poor taxpayer, 'create and loot' and churn out lies through their propaganda mills to cover their stinky butts.
  On a more serious note I think Prof Victor Lawrence is one of the 'finest' gentleman whose outstanding scholastic works of global recognition needs to be cerebrated by all. I personally chanced on him at a graduation ceremony in New Jessey and with his handsome looks, I felt blessed and elevated to be at his presence.
  To the honor of this great son of The Great Continent, Africa, I have this quote from Jane Austen: "What praise is more valuable than the praise of an intelligent servant?”
