  You are definitely right the contents speaks for itself and the minor mistake of the title accepted. You do really write perfect English. My problem with your article though is the belief that the government should tax the already over taxed citizens to recover the GHc400m subsidy.
  
  Government should rather expand the tax base and collect taxes from those who are supposed to pay taxes but do not pay.
  
  Do you know that government only collects 30% of taxes it is due to it? Even if the government can plug the loopholes and collect 50% of taxable entities, that will be an extra 2 billion new cedis and no need to increase VAT taxes.
  
  Secondly, government can save between one billion to 2 billion just by eliminating ghost employees on its payroll. If Korle-Bu has 4800 workers and investigation has revealed that 1257 are ghost employees, that isa little over 20% ghost employees on one hospital alone.
  
  If even 15% of the 700,000 supposed government employees are ghost employees,that is 105,000 non existant employees who are getting paycheck and 15% of 9.7 billion new cedis price tag for government workers is about 1.4 billion new cedis that is being wasted.
  
  There will be no need for tax increases if government can be efficient in collecting taxes and closing the gap on wasteful expenses.

  I am very concern about writers on the issue of utilities price increases who pretends the utility providers are saints. It just sound strange how these individuals see everything wrong with why the consumers are uncomfortable with the increases in their utility prices while seeing nothing wrong with the providers. What about if these writers are beneficiaries of the scam exploiting Ghanaians under the guise of utility provision? One of the most corrupted institutions in Ghana are the utilities providers, as a body. If our Judiciary service and the army institution, are all indicted by the recent auditor general report as corrupt, how much will the utility providers fleece out of us before we wake up?

  Water is all around us, it just needs to be purified. Every individual home needs to source water locally. We can collect rainwater and make it safe for drinking. This will keep your hard earned cash in your pocket.
