Of all the foreign coaches we have had, how many of them had helped black stars score more than three goals in a game. None and if that's the case, why don't you credit Akwasi Appiah for his technical accumen.
Go and ask Nigerians to hire a foreign coach, ogyam.

Here is what I mean:

Example 1: the author used Japan's match to support his argument

"Even Japan, Kwesi Appiah’s Black Stars couldn't beat in a recent friendly match played outside Africa."

My question to Raymond is was the squad we used against both Zambia and Egypt matches the same as the one we used against Japan? The answer here is it wasn't. Below was the team we used and compare that to our main squad.

The team was captained by John Boye, and the rest were Norway-based striker Mahatma Otoo, full backs Samuel Inkoom and Richard Kissi Boateng; midfielders were, Yussif Rahman Chibsah, Albert Adomah, Rashid Sumaila and Frank Acheampong. Only regular players among the squad were goalkeeper Fatau Dauda, defenders Jonathan Mensah, Daniel Opare, Harrison Afful, and striker Abdul Majeed Waris. Don't let us forget that on that day Harrison Afful plyed as a midfielder not a right full back. Have we seen Afful played that position for us before? Therefore, why did Raymond use this match as one of his examples in such an article?

Matter of fact, this was the squad used against Japan's full squad included their top player, Manchester United, Shinji Kagawa. As you can see, Japan wasn't testing its beanch like we did because it had already qualified and wanted to sharpened its team. For that matter, it came with it all whilst we approached the match with our weaker squad.

Here is another example he used:

Kwasi Appiah, allow me to paraphrase it, hasn't be able to beat any of the strong teams outside the country. Specifically mentioned were Zambia and Egypt. Mr. Raymond Yeboah pointed that out.

Here are my questions to Mr. Raymond.

2010 Afcon final against Egypt, who was our head coach? Wasn't Milo at that time? Was he not a professional and a foriegn tactician? Wasn't the same Egyptian player Gedo scored the winning goial after he came into the match as a substitute for them like it happened two days ago?

2012 Afcon semi finals against Zambia, who was the coach back then? Plavi, I supposed. Was he a local coach? Wasn't he an expatrate, professional coach? Why couldn't he lead us to beat Zambia then?

With both examples known to us, what is the point Raymond is getting at? We imported coaches and they couldn't cut it to our expectations so why compare them to the one we have at hand? Doya couldn't win the 2006 Afcon for us; Milo couldn't win Afcon 2010 for us; and Plavi couldn't win Afcon 2012 for us. With the exception of Plavi turn in office when WC games are not hosting, we kept and gave all these coaches the opportunities to take us to the WC. Why can't we do the same for our own?

Mr. Raymond Yeboah can do better than that. If he really wants the GFA and the nation to change its mind and bring in someone else instead of coach Appiah, he should come out with something better than this. Here is a point, our away matches record may not be good, the coaches we inported didn't make it better either. At least, we could try this for ones in our lifetime.

I never knew Coach Appiah had what it takes to take us this far. He has done so. Raymond, at least learn something from me as in giving Kwasi Appiah the opportunity to excel. He can do it. Even if we are going to be paired in a group of HELL, not even group of death as the media is worrying us about, we have a savour to redeem us from that. All we have to do is to recognize and support him. Don't let us be like the Jews who couldn't recognized the redeemer though knew he was coming.

Changing coaches or bringing in any technical director wouldn't help because the chemistry of the team can chgange from what it is now to something different. Therefore, Ramond Yeboah kindly keep this idea somewhere till we are back from the WC games.

The highest number of goals Egypt scored in their qualifiers was 4 in Cairo. The teams Egypt played were ranked at the time as follows
Guinea 59,
Mozambique 116,
Zimbabwe(around 90 something) and yet they had a foreign coach.
GHfuo if u feel so strongly, please let a foreigner take ur place at your job and your home since u are incompetent to manage both. all coaches who qualified us to the world cup were those that took us there. U should also know that none of those coaches were any top notch coaches before they came here.We made them what they have become now.
It's only a lazy person who looks for quick fixes when the solution to his problem is hardwork.

Ghanaweb and Ghanaian journalists specialise in taking a controversial subject and writing an article on it just to create controversy and increase traffic and comments.....this is why we have daily articles on KPB, and now it looks like we are getting daily articles on so called "technical Directors".
I do not mind if our journalists put reasoned arguments forward for and against, but an article such as the one above is poor. Raymond has conveniently forgotten that a WHOLE load of other factors need to be taken into account for the Japan and 2nd Egypt game (as you have noted in your comment above). In fact, this article is so poor that it does not even deserve my comment, or yours!

Alex Ferguson kicked Tevez out of Man U, Manchini accepted him back after he took unauthorised leave, different managers, different styles, different results, thats what makes us human. The same way we argue about KPB was the same way some Man City supporters said Tevez should never get back into the team, whilst others said he should. At the end of the day, the manager makes the decision, and it is up to the fans to put their trust in the decision of the manager and support the team.

Secretly some of the players are yearning for a more experienced Coach to handle the team for Brazil 2014.Coach Kwasi Appiah will still be around as an Assistant Coach.Maxwell Konadu will also be part of the technical team.
Even in KUMASI when we defeated the Egyptians by that wide margin,they dominated the midfield and had more possession of the ball.They were a delight to watch.
The Egyptians totally dominated us in the return encounter and should have scored more than two goals.
National interest should always reign supreme and paramount to all other parochial interests. Nobody hates Akwasi Appiah,he has done very well to have qualified Ghana to the world cup. However from a very objective and analytical point of view we still need a Seasoned Foreign Coach to handle the team in Brazil 2014.

Having said that, European coaches (not white coaches) are better than African coaches from every statistic there is. A south American coach is likely to be better than an African coach. Consistently, they have won the WC. The good ones are expensive and we cant afford them, neither are we able to produce them in Africa hence our lack of winning the WC. Mr. Kwesi Appiah is not yet one of them. I am a Ghanaian and I speak (write) the truth.

South Africa had a Brazilian/South American coach at the last world cup [2010]on home soil,did they win the world cup.Infact that south African coach was expensive/experience, as he had won the world cup with Brazil in 1994.How about other European countries like Holland/Portugal,Russia/why have they not won the world cup with their white coaches.Perhaps it takes more than coaching to win the world cup.Spain did not win the world cup for years until 2010/,before that they could not even make pass the quarter finals, until a generation of extremely good set of players arrived.Every world cup winning team coach was from their national.when they failed,their nation supported them, encourage them,kept employing their own until they won the world cup.England have not won the world cup in over 30 years.The English football league is one of the best in the world.They hired an experience Italian and Swedish coach for England national team 2 times and did not win the world cup.

But what happened, he was sacked for no reason only to be replaced by a white man and Togo couldn't win a single match at the world cup. So what is the fuss about white coach. Fabio Capello took England to the 2010 world cup,he did not pass the first round.Is he not a white coach?????

How many teams in the world has ever beaten Egypt (the African Champions of many years)? We lost in Egypt not because they were better than us....but, it was all down to the psychological belief by some players that, we have already reached the final and as a result, damage limitation was required.
Moreover, the fear factor of events in Egypt may have affected some players....who performed below par.

However, we need to raise the psychological aspect of our game and believe we can beat any team in the world and not fall for their 'cheating antics'.......in short we have to be 'street-wise' and the world cup will be ours, come 2014.

It's shame how we still have enslaved minds like you, who see nothing good of your own people in what ever we achieve or strive to achieve ourselves.

Please, please free your mind and do something for yourself and STOP relying on foreigners to do it for you all the time.......You are as equally as human as they and can even achieve better and win the World Cup, that is we put our minds to it; bar the use of biased referees by FIFA, officiating our matches.

I however completely disagree with your supposition that because the only known players in our squad are the ones you have mentioned, we will not match up with the teams like France etc. How did you come to that conclusion? Who ever told you that it is household names that win games or tournaments? The German team that played the finals with Spain in the last world cup did not contain a whole lot of household names. It was their performance in the same WC that created the household names in the likes of Ozil etc. Uruguay got to the semi finals at our expense, apart from Suarez, who else did you know in that team? your observation on that issue is therefore totally unfounded and therefore flawed. Let me tell you what most sports experts know except for yourself. Ghana has a strong team made up of very experienced and world class players in Kevin Boateng, Essien, Asamoah Gyan, Muntari, Andre Ayew, Vorsah, Boye and then we have a strong group of young players in the persons of Atsu, Wakaso, Jordan Ayew, just to mention a few. These are all players playing in top leagues in Europe and have what it takes to play the likes of Spain, France, Portugal, Chile and all the teams you have mentioned. The England coach Roy Hogson stated last week that either Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast are teams to watch in Brazil 2014. Do you think he does not know what he has seen of these teams hence his statement? Yes, there is work to be done and tactical research and adjustments to be made. It can be done and yes, KA can do with some help. Mr Author, this team has much more potential than you can realize. You wait till the summer of 2014 and see what our boys are going to produce.

Slave mentality does not enable a person to see his real worth. The path we took to qualification was not an easy one but we did it because of the efficiency of the technical team and the players. It was a big blow for us when Zambia was given 3 free points after losing to Sudan but we qualified ahead of them. In the play-off, nobody knew Egypt could be beaten 6-1 until we played them in Kumasi - that was how competent we were. It made the loss in Cairo inconsequential.
The loss in Cairo was the result of the fear we inflicted on ourselves by turning soccer into propaganda that Cairo was not safe. In fact if Cairo was not safe, definitely it was not Ghanaians who have to tell FIFA and Egyptians. The Egyptians had nothing to gain in playing in an unsafe place but that was what was important for us and not football. Because of this we did not go to Cairo early enough to acclimatize. The coach even said they could not have the usual warm-up before a match. This clearly affected the players as they could not cope with the speed of the Egyptians. This had nothing to do with Akwesi Appiah.
At any rate we have qualified and the coach must be praised and not humiliated. He has done enough to take the Black Stars to Brazil.

Using AA's performance in AFCON 2013 to determine whether he is good to take us to Brazil is a lame argument. If you can mention just one of our many foreign coaches who won an AFCON tournament, then I will know you are serious about using AFCON to determine the fate of Akwasi Appiah.
Several factors came into play to contribute to our poor performance in Cairo some of which I have already mentioned. One other factor which is important was that, it is difficult to motivate oneself to play at one's best after beating one's opponent 6-1 in the first leg - that was the story of the Black Stars. Take Uruguay's play-off as an example. After beating Jordan 5-0 away in the 1st leg, they could only manage a 0-0 draw with them at home. When you are playing a 2-leg match, what matters is to sail through. That is what AA and his BS have done. This is why I believe Akwasi Appiah deserves praise and he is the best man to take us to Brazil.

Akwasi Apiah at Brazil world cup 2014.This is true from the fact that even though Akwasi Appiah has been able to take the Black Stars to the coming world cup his ability to think od his feet and make proper use of the talented players in the current black stars to match teams like Brazil, France and the likes alone is douthful. I say this because of his performance against Egypt which the black stars beat 6- 1 in the first leg of the the qualifyers.Look at how Egypt dominated the midfield for the greater part of the game and coarch Akwasi Appiah had no answer to how to change the tide in the midfield!! We were lucky that Kevin Boateng come in and scored the goal that turned the tide against Egypt and eventually sealed the game for Ghana.I bet you we were all sitting on thorns when this was happening and good old Akwasi Appiah seem to have no answer to that problem.Do you think given in the same situation against strong team like Brazil and co we get off the hook with a 2-1 win? No!! the black stars could be beaten by large margin of goals, all because our local coarch even though good by African level soccer standard lacks the skills for such an international big time soccer.Fact is that bieng able to take us to the world cup does not gurantee that he will somehow gain the big time technical skills that some of these foriegn coarches have.So lets be proactive in our thinking and get him some technical help at the Brazil 2014.This is by no means to diminish the good job done of our local coarch Akwsi Appiah, ok? Also we most often forget about the wingers of opponents, our lateral defense need some training along these lines. Goal keeping still remain a big problem to me. Our keeper is short and when we face sharp shooters who fire to the top corners of the post we shall be conceding to many goals. Scoring goals is difficult and we must learn to defend well when we score. Congratulations but don't be complacent. Thanks for the opportunity.

Strange things do happen in football but the approach adopted by Black Starts in the second leg could just be what we needed; contain, contain, contain! And forget the overall rating at the end of the game, what matters most is the final score which we got handsomely.

Coming to the suitability of Kwesi Appiah, we must give huge credit to him and demonstrate ample appreciation before even evaluating his ability to deliver on the apex global stage in Brazil. But why not him? Why the doubt? Why so pessimistic? Why can't we trust the Black guy is more than capable of sterling delivery? Why look down upon ourselves? We must give him the chance to get the best out of him!

I believe calling for a foreign coach is intricately linked to a white man from somewhere in Europe! Come on, let's trust our own God giving instinct! And dare we must to venture on to the impossibility!

I was gapingly confronted with a question "Are you the one who developed this application(software) for this organization?" I said yes but any problem? Also Appiah has scored more goals than the foreign coaches in qualification and conceded the least. And he's had more wins and fewer loses than them. He has better results as a coach than Milo and look where Milo has taken the Black Stars. Appiah will take this team far. First they said Ghana would not beat Zambia than Appiah proved his critics wrong. Then they said he wouldn't qualify us passed Egypt and he did. He'll take us far.

Of-course, we need technical expertise to advice Kwasi Appiah since the world is full of football powerhouses. However, without good training with excellent disciplinary measures, I do not think Ghana will be considered a fearsome and a football powerhouse we have always wanted to be, and we will be reduce to a laughingstock. You do not need to be an expatrait to have technical acumen. Akwasi Appiah has it and so be it. Stop from hyping the stupid expatrait coaches and let's concentrate on our own. Let me ask you? Have we been able to bring top class coaches like Jose Morinho and the Likes. Its the playing body that counts. A good team is a team who is been together for quite some time not the technical bench. If the boys playing are not a plying as a team to start, nothing will work so leave Akwasi Appiah and Maxwell Konadu alone. Ray has made a valid point, if it's necessary for technical asisstant to help the coach train the Black Stars I rather suggest that we leave it to the coach and plyers to think over it seriously, after all they play the game, they know themselves, their strengths and weaknesses, and having excellent professional players among them they can help the coach/GFA as to which technical director will be most effective to help them succeed at the world cups but definetely not TOP/BOTTOMueller or whatever he's called;though in my opinion the present crop of coaches with the National team is enough and the are capable of doing wonders in Brazil! Raymond, I was rather expecting to say we need an additional technical Director and not specifically foreign coach. I believe strongly that if Milo had been a Ghanaian or technically good in our match against Uruguay, we would not have needed to reach penalties. Uruguay had Forlan as the Danger-man, their Central Defender and Captain was playing with half strength yet we allowed him free room. All we needed was to have the ball in their box and period. One man marking for Forlan wud have ended Uruguay's dream. Yes Kwesi Appiah needs an additional brain so we can see our oppenets weaknesses.I believe we should add either Sam Arday, Oti Akenteng or any of the old local and tactically headed
