Was Rawlings made aware of the reason TT collected such large sums of money from a Foreign Bank? Was Rawlings informed that the country's Oil Drill Ship was being used as a Guarantee or mortgage to collect a loan of $40 Million Dollars? Was the said French Loan given to Tsatsu Tsikata used for the purpose for which the loan was taken? Is there any evidence J J Rawlings or TT can show Ghanaians about the use of this loan facility? Did J J Rawlings ask Tsatsu Tsikata how he was going to pay the loan, and when he defaulted, askED again, how he was going to repay the loan? The writer is just being factual. It does not mean he adores murderers. Even God forgives murderers so move on. Try disputing JJ's record as detailed by the writer. All our leaders do some good and bad and that's just the way it is and will continue to be. While there should always be opposition to ensure some level of checks and balances, it also means there will always be naysayers. No Government that I am aware of has been perfect. Not even Mandela's.

Sure, he would be called all derogatory things anyone could think of but since the military would enforce discipline everyday but the country would forge ahead and fare much better than we are today. Do you at least agree we are very undisciplined and tough-skinned?

Do you sincerely think that the kind of corruption within the NDC and NPP between 1992 and 2013 could have happened in a military regime? Of course the military would have given way to democracy along the way but things would have been better before.

Do you remember how everyone went to work early and that people were afraid to dodge work? Do you remember how armed robbery stopped? Do you know why? Anyone caught and identified as armed robber, especially those who exchange shootouts with the military were caught and shot.
Now everyone is afraid to go out at nights for fear of armed robbers. Even taking taxi in Ghana now is risky. I remember I arrived at the Airport with a guy. This guy took a taxi and got robbed of all his documents, money and everything he brought with him. He was thrown out from the moving taxi, sustaining wounds on his arms and leg.

I have to say this once again (I have said it so many times here already); after Rawlings was elected president for the first time, he was invited to France (He refused invitation by the British that time). The journalist interviewing him tried to tell him (Rawlings) that, how he [had] all that he wanted, having become the president...
He had not finished phrasing his question when JJR intervened and told him, he didn't want to be president at all, and made him (the journalist) understand there were obstacles in the way of that position, and he explained: Whereas as a head of state, he could impose his will because he knew what his country needed, he intoned, he would be blocked by parliament when he took decisions, even if some knew the decisions were needed.
He concluded Ghanaians were stubborn and needed strong hands. He also talked about how corruption could still resurface. All the things he told the journalist in France that day followed exactly the years after. So we find Ghana in corruption far worse than it was when the military took over.

WE all have ourselves to blame in Ghana's situation.

Since the overthrowing of the Africa Messiah and the liberator of Africa as continent, Ghana has been strangelhold by the few gullible elites in conjuction with their latent colonial masters.

Since then, Ghana has retrogress to the worse form of state. Only the few elites are enjoying the cake of the nation at the expenses of the poor majority. People who are from Zong or Mslims are negelected, discriminated, criminalised, victimised and stigmatised. The aformentioned people are destituted and wallowing in abject poverty. Apart from Kwame Nkurnah Rawlings is the one who recognised these people and even declared their festvity as a nationla holidays.

To set something right, you have to sacrificed. The killing of those few eltis who have indirectly killed millions of poor people, children, women and disables by denying them the primary living condition is not comperable to what Rawlings did to them.

Because of those sacrification, Ghana is enjoying now the democratic dispensation. Ghana is viewed by the world as beacon of democracy and peaceful country in Africa.

To measure a civilisation, freedom and justice of a country is the way which the country treat the minority.

I am so happy that we have people like Ibrahim who recognizes the important role Ex president Jerry John Rawlings played in the development and more so the history of our Dear nation Ghana.Infact a section of Ghanaians especially the NPP and their cohorts used the press after he handed over power to destroy him and make him unpopular.
