But how did he get to know them? As someone who is grossly fascinated by the field of Black Studies, he stalks the experts in the field and befriends them. He is a GROUPIE. Trust me, he is not as smart as you think. Any casual user of ghanaweb is familiar with CARDINAL aka JUSTICE SARPONG. Just a computer IP search would reveal that you live in Texas versus Okoampa who is in NY. One thing I can tell you about this "Ntim" guy is that he reads everything on black studies and knows a thing or two about the English language. And with his knowledge of the experts in Black Studies, whose friendship he courts, he trolls the pages of ghanaweb bragging about his friendship to the giants in the field. Everything stated above is the truth and will restrain myself from saying more. In terms of accomplishments, this "Ntim" guy will not be qualified to drive Okoampa to work. Moreover, your write-ups on Ghanaweb clearly tells us you did nothing better or spectacular in "The Jagged Edge."

I wonder the kind of articles you wrote for "The Jagged Edge." Remember,you were at the time young and obviously was not as wise as today and did not have the writing skills you have, if any, today.

Even today when you are supposed to be wise as well as improved upon your writing skills, look at the trash and mediocre write-ups you give readers. In fact, there is nothing radically aggressive about your writings and the campus paper.

Most Puerto Rican (Hispanics)college/university graduates barely write or read English very well. About 10-15% of American university graduates read at the level of middle-or high-school.

Your books are not popular or even known in the field. Most of the editors at respected journals in America, people I personally know, are not familiar with your work. I have personally discussed you with some of them. They are not familiar with your work.

In fact, most of your articles will be rejected by nearly all of the journals in the West. They are as good as Ghanaweb. Your articles are not scholarly enough. Do you think your Ghanaweb articles are scholarly? What rubbish!

Writing 20 books does not make you an important teacher in the field. What impact have they had on the world? What impact have they had on America? What impact have they had on Africa? What impact have they had on South America? What impact have they had in Ghana? Zero!

Most of the leading intellectuals in the field of African/African American Studies don't know you or even heard your name. Stop giving "ignorant" readers the impression that you are important in the American Academia. You are not. Dare me!

Neither are you known in the field of African literature. Ngugi wa Thiong'o's son who has written a couple of books is well-known in America (and Europe) than you.

The Nigerian-American Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has written a few books. Yet she is a force in the American academy while you are not. She is more popular with American intellectuals than you. She has even won MacArthur "genius" Award ($500,000).

Henry Louis Gates, Jr., one of America's leading public intellectuals,doesn't know you or about your work. I once heard you bragging on Ghanaweb that Gates has threatened to reduce the number of students from your Ivy League Community college from entering Harvard. How stupid of you!

You think this important scholar has time for your foolishness and stupidity. Have you read his books or seen his TV programs educating the world about the African world (though not everything he shows or says about Africa) is right.

No respected anthology of African literature has entries for your work. Could you provide your "ill-informed" and "ignorant" readers a citation analysis as far as your work is concerened?

Rather than debate your "high-school" Ghanaweb readers, why don't you, Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe, quote from your "scholarly" books and essays published in respected peer review journals?

Why don't you use your "scholarly" research and "scholarly" articles in respected peer review to debate your "high-school" critics? Why always rely on Ghanaweb articles to attack your critics? Why do you, Prof. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe, show your critics class?

How many respected scholars have used or quoted from your body of work? Could you tell them how your scholarship has impacted society? Look at Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Nuruddin Farah, etc? Even within Africa, your are an intellectual child of the Awoonors, Armahs, etc. How many schools in Africa use your books?

Ama Ata Aidoo, for instance, taught at Brown University, an Ivy League, in fact, one of America's top universities, an institution you can never get to teach because the quality of your work does not measure up to hers. You and I know this.

Ghanaweb readers are more likely to know you than American intellectuals and students in the African/African American Studies field. How many African stidents have read your work? Most Ghanaians who know you are those who read your Ghanaweb articles. Nearly every Ghanaian (I have dealt with) who doesn't use Ghanaweb knows you or heard your name!Forget your work. They don't know them though they know about Achebe, Awoonor, Armah, Chimamanda, Aidoo, etc.

You spend a lot of quality time writing junk for Ghanaweb and other mediocre websites because you know in your heart that no respected journal in the world will publish your mediocre work!

I hope you are aware that CUNY (City University of New York), of which City College is part, is not even rated amongst the top 100 best univeristies/colleges in America.

CUNY was, more or less, designed for
poor Americans (with poor pre-university skills or preparation) in the New York area, especially minorities. It was probably why you were able to get admission into it in the first place.

I remember taking an English class with a doctoral student from the English department (the graduate center) who didn't know what "nought" was. He explianed to the class that "nought" was "not nothing." These are the kinds of English professors you sometimes get within the CUNY system.

Moreover, CUNY has one of the lowest admissions requirements in America. CUNY also records one of the highest dropout rates in the country. And its community colleges are some of the worst in North America. You should not be proud of being a CUNY alumni.

Even within CUNY, City College has never been known to have strong English programs. It's noted more for its science and engineering programs than for its liberal arts/humanities. Its liberal arts programs are not rated among the best in the country. Both Lehman and Baruch colleges, both part of the CUNY, has a better program in English than City College.

Lehman College, for instance, has a better English program than City College. High-school students who have serious and writing problems are more likely to get into City College than, say, New York Univesity. City College is not even counted among the best in New York. Stop exaggerating your views about City College.

I have personally known nearly all the black professors you mention in your article here. We have met at various conferences. Dr. Leonard Jeffries is not a published scholar. The late Bernal Martin, author of the controversial Black Athena, once took him up on this. Edward Scobie used to publish in Ivan Van Sertima's "The Journal of African Civilizations."

Dr. Jeffries got into trouble primarily for introducing "The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews," a book published by the Nation of Islam. This books deals with the role Jews played in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.

He successfully sued City College for violating his first amendment rights only for an appellate court to reverse the decision. The late Dr. Tony Martin of Wellesley College, Massachusetts, got into a similar problem with Jews when he used the same book in his class.

Please don't make the controversy simplistic for your "ignorant" readers. Yet you are not the intellctual equal of any of the scholars you mention in your article, My Madiba Moment-part 3. These are scholars whose work are influential and known the world over.

In fact, Dr. Jeffries is noted for his influential consultancies with public high-schools in New York and New Jersey. His work with African scholars and leaders are proverbial. These are creative scholars who develop theories and apply them on the ground to make human life better. Can you say the same of yourself? Isn't all your scholarship about ethnocentrism, hatred, stupidity, mediocrity, insults, cluelessness, and foolishness?

In fact, City College will not dream of making you the head of any of its programs because there are more accomplished scholars, well-published,and better researchers who will qualify for the post. You are an intellectual kid as far as quality research is concerned.

Finally, why do you teach at a community college? Isn't community college more like our old secondary school Form 5 (O'LEVEL)? Can you compare a community college to secondary school Sixth Form (a'level)? Hell no. Why are you proud of yourself then? I was a teaching assitant in a community college (Hostos Community College, also part of CUNY system). Among other things, I had to teach new students algebra which involves explaining to students the outcome of adding negative 20 to positive 10, say.

Tell your readers that community colleges, unlike senior colleges, don't require much from their professors. That work loads at community colleges are not as heavy and serious as those at senior colleges?

In effect, community colleges have low expectations of their professors in terms of university work. It's why you get time to write junk for Ghanaweb. Any scholar worth his/her salt will write for respected peer review journals. We know all the Ghanaian scholars who do this even as they write for Ghanaweb.

Don't give your "ignorant" readers the impression that you are important in the American academia. Tell them all about the respected peer review journals you publish in and give them your citation index( how many scholars/researcers quote or use your work.

Anything short of that is vanity. Most respected scholars in your field put their hyperbolic intellectual biographies in best-selling memoirs/autobiographis. Do the same. Most readers on Ghanaweb don't know you are lying or exagerating your intellectual abilities.

Tell them about renowned Ghanaian intellectuals like Dr. Emmanuel Acheampong, Dr. Daniel Bentil, Dr. Ashitey Trebi-Ollenu, Dr. Ave Kludze, etc. English is not science, mathematics, or engineering. You don't need any special gifts to read English. But not so with mathematics, engineering, or physics.

Moreover, I only meant to say that you should not try to associate yourselve with respected intellectuals and individuals who don't know you or recognize your work in any form or shape.

Like I have said before, I personally know most of the people, black and white, you have mentioned in this series,My Madima Moment, particularly those in America.

By "ignorant" readers I simply mean those of your readers who may not necessarily have shared any personal familiarity, friendship, or acquaintance with the people you mention in the series. I have. In other words, these readers may be "ignorant" of your white lies. I want these readers to know more about your lies. That's all!

I still meet with many of these individuals you mention at conferences, conferences which you will never be invited to to discuss your academic work, if you have any.

Some of us read his articles for different reasons not because we always agree with him. I for instance like to read his articles because of the flowery flow of the English language. Whether Okoampah is known or not known among the elites of the African study field is of little importance to me.

You don't need to blame the readers of Okoampa articles because Okoampa will continue to churn out articles even if he does not get one response from readers.

Any weak minded person would have stopped writing at Ghanaweb with all the insults he endure from readers but not Okoampa who seems to have a mission to make his views known regardless of how others think about him.

Because if you are, a student of English, you will have read my critique of his intellectual shallowness and understood that I never insulted any reader. This was why I put ignorant in quotes.

Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe, alias Cardinal, whatever you call yourself, don't pretend you have suddenly taken a keen interest in your readers whom you insult everyday.

In fact, if you are a strong-minded intellectual, then, Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe, alias Cardinal, personally engage your intellectual peers, of which I am a member. And, Ntim, you have made your point about (against?) Okoampa, why do you keep on hitting on the same spot? You post the same stuff on each of Okoampa's Madiba moment articles, the man doesn't answer you. Isn't it time to lay off?

If there's anything new about Okoampa we don't know, just tell us those things rather than repeating the same stuff.

I am one of those who are none too impressed by Okoampa's language skills despite his huge vocabulary but if someone says he likes that kind of English why do you try to dissuade the person from liking it?

Those of us who have been long on ghanaweb know Okoampa very well and nothing he writes surprises us any longer. He is a graphomaniac who is tortured by the lack of recognition of his creative talents and must flex his muscles on ghanaweb and tell everybody there what a brilliant guy he is. But good wine needs no bush. Many of us see through Okoampa and leave it at that. Let him satisfy himself.

It seems you don't even know how to defend your own case. First, you must accept that CARDINAL is NOT Okoampa. Every regular on this forum knows CARDINAL is Justice Sarpong, a regular columnist on ghanaweb. His language is different from Okoampa's. The only thing he shares with Okoampa is that they both support NPP.

I am Moses and I am writing from Stockholm. I cannot be Cardinal or Okoampa (unless the latter is still hanging around in Stockholm after receiving his Noble Prize for Literature...). You can check the ipaddresses to confirm this.

Lastly, you should've noticed that I detest Okoampa's writing and boastful attitude as much as you do. In that, I am on your side, and not against you! All I am saying is that you've sufficiently made your point and can consider moving on to something else about Okoampa than the same points you've made several times already. Else you risk losing a good case.

Only Okoampa can adequately debate you on who the real Okoampa is. Neither CARDINAL nor I can do that on behalf of Okoampa whom none of us has ever met or know beyond the pages of ghanaweb.

But first you must accept that it's not Okoampa disguising himself here as CARDINAL or Moses. After all we, at least I, don't like Okoampa either!

It's Ahoofe I am after. If Cardinal or Moses is not Ahoofe, then either should keep quiet.

I have as much right as they have to question the credentials of Ahoofe on this forum. No one is going to stop. Not even Ahoofe can stop me.

This is just the beginning. And I am not attacking him personally. In fact, we should be doing this to our so-called scholars now and then.

This is because some of Ahoofe's former college professors and classmates, some of whom are my personal friends,don't feel comfortable reading his articles.

I have personally shown them hundreds of copies of his writings. They feel his kind of writings is a disgrace to the institutions where he studiesd and to the professors who taught.

It's unfortunate he admits in one of his series that he did not allow people to insult Africans and African Americans, even while he insutlts Ghanaians everyday. Are these Ghanaians he insults not Africans? What kind of a "scholar" is this?

I have gone on to explain the context for "ignorant." I rest my case.

It seems you have a problem recognizing those who support you. You think those who do not support EVERYTHING you say are necessarily against you, even if they support the main part of your thesis.

That is why I insist you're spoiling your own good case. Cardinal and I are in no way supportive of Okoampa's opinions and, in my case, even his writing style. You cut off reading some opinions and don't think that Okoampa also has a right to cut off reading YOUR opinion and not answering.

Fair is fair - a cardinal point in academic discussions.

People like Kwegyir Aggrey existed and did more for Afica than Nkrumah ever did . In his naivety Nkrumah thought that he could unite Africa and fight defeat the west. Unfortunately for him he didnt live long enough to see the fall of communism . Even the Soviets buckled in the end and just as with backing the Communist Pan African Congress instead of the ANC history has proved that he backed the wrong side again. If he wasn't into self glorification and indeed recognised the fact that Liberia had indeed achieved independence first then perhaps he would have learned from their mistakes and who knows perhaps Ghana would not be where it is today.Nkrumah's legacy all jokes aside is dangerous for Ghana. Because it simply wipes out all the efforts of all those who fought against colonialism pre 1900 . People fought the right for people like him and the founding fathers to get educated . It wasn't a right at the time, it was a privilege. Our forefathers including Nkrumah's forefathers were not stupid you know, there was a long struggle before him and them.
But because u may have been a victim of his education legacy just like I and many others were ,you may not realise that you were educated not to think for yourself, thereby trained never to research for yourself and perhaps become a victim of chew and pour syndrome. This stifles creativity.We were given limited books, and if u did not repeat what the teacher said EXACTLY you were failed even if you used a different synonym. PEOPLE THEREFORE WITH THE BEST MEMORIES THRIVED AND THATS WHAT BEEN REPLICATED TODAY ie CORRUPTION,LIES AND PROPAGANDA. If u realise our soceity in Ghana is ran by some Dr's and Prof and educated elite who chewed and poured and are still using the same old indoctrination and therefore cannot think outside the box. All they do is talk big and do nothing. No wonder churches are thriving for all the wrong reasons.If u want more of his legacies I can give you more . Loud mouths with good memories running some of the churches in Ghana and some stooping so low as to believe in getting powers for black magic to gain a congregation with the intention to exploit. Many of the church members, (and I go to church by the way) go to church to ask for many things which sometime frankly u could ask God at home for . Because people go to church to ask for help for conditions which are frankly caused by socio economic factors like access to clean water, sanitation and poor economic policies resulting from his legacy. If these simple needs are met frankly the witches would also get in the act of trying to better themselves, thereby allowing for educated priests to deal with 21st century needs. Ghana will continue to be where we are until we educate ourselves. Why Nkrumah never extended free education to Southern Ghana beats my imagination, yet he found money to support education in Soviet Idealogy for other African countries beats my imagination. I can even bet that you haven't even read Kwame Nkrumah's biography

If respected peer review journals in America (the West), both white and black, reject your papers, as a PhD, Akadu Mansema, what do you do?
