As a staunch Nkrumaist, when I noticed this headline, my interest was immediately turned to its bombastic and exaggerated pretensions against my presumably, ideological foes.

Im running off to work at this moment but I couldnt resist the desire to quickly chip in.

It is to be admitted that much as most of the substance of the article is right on cue, some parts of it, particularly the title, seem to be derived from some kind of emotional over-kill. It mars the beauty of the truths of the other aspects of the article.

I think that we must all admit that since the overthrow of the 1st Republic, this our poor country has been on a rapid downward decline by the machinations of imperialist exploitative diktat.

Some people may point to a few superficial and materialistic economic effusions in minuscule parts of Accra as possible signs of some kind of development but I would strongly resist the temptation to call it so.

Within the paradigm of the post-Nkrumah period, many charlatans have had their day to simply siphon off from what Nkrumah created and amass personal wealth to the disadvantage of the increasingly deprived people of this country. Kufuor is only just one of such characters but he is by no means the worse President we have had so far.

Many people say that it is unethical to insult a sitting President, but for Gods sakes, how can we compare Kufuor to the utter and complete mess that we find ourselves in under current President Mahama. This description, I have made with a lot of unbelievable personal restraint. To have the courage to overlook this stinking fact leads me on to suspect that the writer must either have some NDC proclivities or is equally and also deeply ensconced in the unprecedented depravity of govt as we have it today under the NDC. What is going on at the level of governance in this country is like a bunch of kindergarten school-kids messing themselves up in mud under pouring rain.

How could Antobam, the writer, have overlooked the nearest ever living thing to the classical 'Master Don Quixote'. The said Jeremiah John who also became Jerry John Rawlings, the misbegotten son who led us by the nose and took the entire country on a merry-go-round that erased - or rather, burnt 20 bloody good years out of our precious limited life-time to no avail, to no purpose and for nothing?

Then we also have Hilla Limann and Kofi Abrefa Busia who were not as bad but equally inept, turgid and incompetent.

During Kufuors tenure, paradoxically, he did more to enhance the name and merits of Nkrumah than any of the contemporary Presidents including Mahama and Mills (I even forgot about him) who have both made lurid and pretentious claims as to being Nkrumaists.

Under the laughable delusion of a capitalist or a neo-liberal agenda, let us all look God in the face and admit - if we have the brains to do so, that the Kufuor govt did much much more for this country than most other govts we have had the ill-luck of living under.

Kufuor, whether he was under political obligation to act the part or he was really earnest about it, did more in his little way to promote Nkrumah than the decomposed remnants of the CPP, the Party that Nkrumah himself formed but which now under the banner of his own daughter, seems to have been strategically hijacked and effectively compromised by imperialist moles within that Party.

For you the writer to say that "..all subjugated nations are now relatively free of colonialism.." shows how completely naive and ignorant you yourself are in this subject-matter. Very clearly you are not intellectually qualified to dabble in the subject in which you have thrown yourself. By doing so however, you have brought up a few critical issues which can be discussed for mutual benefit.

I will at a later date come back and do a more in-depth analysis of your article. But for now, you also have a good day and a Happy New year.

The same greetings goes for all those who have contributed in various ways to our sometimes fiery, inflammatory,subdued and reasonable points of view on this platform.

Kuffour is among one and only few among world leaders to have been invited to the Buckingham Palace to have ridden in a Royal Chariot by the Queen of England, in recognition his great achievement for Ghana and Africa as a whole.

Rest assured Opnain-pa Kuffour, because your great deeds will forever follow you, even to eternity! Ghanaians aren't worried about what NDC will try to say to discredit you. Your works are there for all to see, written in pure gold. The solid economic foundation that you laid cannot be hidden by propaganda and lies. John Mahama-led NDC govt. is supposed to continue from where your govt. left off. Instead, they've lost focus trying to shift blame on you. Be cool and relaxed as always because God is in control.

During his eight years in office,Kufour deliberately refused to send a single foreign dignitaries to sign the book of condolence at the Nkrumah mausoleum in Accra.They all landed in Accra and whisked away to Kumasi to see the Asantehene instead.

All the so-called political stupid analysts in the country didn`t see anything wrong with Kufour`s headless behaviour.
And he had the nerves to be heaping praises on Nelson Mandela when he ignored Nkrumah who started the fight against white oppression and colonialism.
Kufour forgot that people like Nelson Mandela and others looked up to Nkrumah and other Africa leaders at the time for support.

Look how he strategically moved Ghana into HIPIC when Rawlings declared Ghana bankrupt and said there was no money to run the nation. Again he Kuffuor unlike Mills and Mahama thought it expedient to construct the Bui Dam initiated by Dr Nkrumah devoid of political agenda but for the national interest. Now all the uncompleted projects including housing, roads, hospitals and others initiated by Kuffuor are abandoned just for political gamestick. How can anyone with honesty and sincereity compare the aforementioned past and present presidents compare with what Kuffuor did for Ghana when it comes to socio-economic developmental growth of the economy. Besides, he transformed the cedi value to meet international standards only for the NDC's to devalue the cedi equivalent with the dollar and Euro on the international market and now you telling us Kuffuor is the worse president. If Danquah-Busia-Obatsebi Lamptey-Baffour Akoto were really wanted to do good politics rather than HATRED politics they could´ve embraced and appreciated all the development and good things Osagyefo established in Ghana, at this 21st century Ghana could have take off. But because of Hatred on Osagyefo they started throwing Bombs and distrupt the peaceful independence we gained from Britain. You all see where we are now. Tema township, Meridian Hotel, Harbour, Oil Refinery and numerous factories around the city, Tema was regarded as the best planned modern city in Ghana, but now look at the condition of Tema Township.

Ex-President Kufour has made his mark as a president of Ghana and fully recognised across the world and presently represent the image of Ghana.

It is sad that non achiever like you and out of political sycophancy sit in your bed room to write unproductive articles to portray negative side of others without recognising their achievement.

If you have something good to contribute to Ghana, you must first discuss the achievement of Late Ata Mills and examine the abysmal performance of President Mahama.

Look.... Rawlings was in Power for barely 20 good years, his achievement can not be compared with that of Kufours eight years hence the bitterness and envy of most of you guys.

Leadership is about promotion of ideas and development of society.

Nkrumah's days can not be compared with current Ghana. Each of this periods presented different conditions all together. People who continue to refer to Nkrumah's days and compared that to current Ghana situation lack understanding of changing world development and political decision making process.

I will ask Kobina to read more about theories of Change management process and analyse the PEST mnemonic; Political, economical, social technological factors to update himself about governance in Ghana over the last twenty years and who among our last four president made positive impact to our society.

Wasn´t it through his initiative or good governance that earned Ghana the M1 Road in Accra? Can you tell Ghanaians which Major Road in Accra wasn´t done during Kuffours time? Within eight years he managed to contained the national debt within reasonable level.Kuffour left office with a National debt of 9bn Dollars.NDC haven´t completed their 8yr term yet but the national debt has already jumped to 40Bn Dollars and yet they have nothing to boast apart from corrption.
