You too can join to earn more money, if you think they are better off. If governments don't spend well on security, what will be the fate of the government and the state?

Incentives are given to entice and attract people to go and do certain things they don't, in the ordinary, want to do. If are not forever. If the incentives have been able to do their job properly, they are withdrawn.

These days, who does not want to be a trained teacher and a trained nurse? Just as university education used to be free plus allowences, so also the teaching and nursing professions. University students take loans and educate themselves even though they complete the courses without jobs. Teachers and nurses are readily absorbed into health systems and paid well.

Freedom is not free. Let the would-be teachers and nurses go for SSNIT loans and go through their courses. Taking loans and paying after the course, helps the students to mature and to be responsible right after schooling.

Let's be honest with ourselves. Everything in Ghana is either free or cheapest. Nigerians found out this and stormed our universities with their children pursuing courses at the expense of the Ghanaian tax payer.

Let us all get involved to build our mother land, Ghana.

I believe almost all of these trainees are in the field doing actual work in profit making hospitals? Correct me, if i am wrong. Some of us believe this is disastrous, but we may be wrong. While I do agree a lot of freebies need to be eliminated, why not start from our lazy ass ministers who receive free housing and allowances, in addition to their gargantuan paycheck?

There is a season for everything. There was a time when students at the universities had five meals a day plus night coffee, free. A room to themselves. Their rooms were cleaned for them daily free of charge. On top of these they were given stipends. No more today. Those days there were 3000 students in all the universities. Today there are 100,000 + students at UST + UG + UCC. The original regimen is not sustainable.
Same holds for nurses and teachers. Today their numbers are multiple of the number when the policy was introduced.
