Allowing opponents to take the game to us will be disaterous. We should play aggressively in order to push them yo their area and continuously bombard them till they cave in. Allowing the Ronaldos and the likes to play their game as we did against Germany in 2010 will spell doom to our aspirations. Go all out in an attacking game and they will crumble.

The author made readers aware at the beginning that he was no football connoisseur, so all inaccuracies are regarded in this light (such as John Mensah and Richard Kingson being experienced players in the current Black Stars setup or the deceased nature of the very much alive Jones Attuquayefio).

Having said this, I hope Akwasi Appiah and his team give this article a serious read. The coach's justification of selecting some players has been very laughable at best. To succeed at the World Cup tournament requires several areas of action that the author has explained with his 5S conceptualization.

Teamwork, strategy and tactics, competence, flexible capabilities to respond to opposition teams' velocities, adequate and competent replacements for each position, confidence and self-belief are some of the ingredients that will serve us in good stead during the 2014 World Cup.

ADEQUATE preparation is key; with our prior performance and current pool of good players, we have no excuse to not progress further than we have in the last two editions. The onus lies on building a very capable and competent technical bench to make use of the player-talent pool.

I pray to God that Akwasi Appiah can play against higher FIFA ranked teams and leave a mark. So far, he does not appear to have played (and won any match against) a higher ranked team.

Kwasi Appian should know that if we go to play the type of game we played in Egypt, then for a surety we should not think of a second round berth. We should go all out with guns blazing. Allowing Ronald and co to take the game to us will spell disaster. They should practise the open space positioning. They should not stand behind an opponent when his mate is on the ball, but rather move into spaces where they can easily be spotted and given a pass. They should avoid hitting the balls against opponents when trying to give a pass. They should also avoid giving stray passes which will in the long ran go to benefit an opponent. When they are in a tight corner, they should hold onto the ball firmly without giving it out to an opponent. Practice Makes Perfect (PMP), so they should take their trsining serious.
