In my humble opinion Ku4 did a good job as a president economically despite apointing his brother into govt and awarding contracts to his son coupled with many cases of corruption eg the the Ghana at 50 celebrations which I found troubling.

He alone however cannot be accused for causing the NPP to loose though he never really campaign for Nana the way a former president was supposed to have done. Some would also say KU4 won without the help of any former president so Nana could have also won without any help. How then did KU4 do it?

Firstly KU4 was at the right place at the right time. At the time he came most Ghanaians were very tired of the Rawlings regime and wanted a change. KU4 also exhibited some of the physical qualities voters were looking for. He was tall and appeard humble and welcoming different from everything Nana seemed to look like. KU4 never exhibited some of the traits said to be part of many Asantes, that is arrogance, rudeness and tribalism during the campaign, even if he did possess such he manged to contain and hide them.

According to the above many Ghanaians outside of the NPP's strong holds of Ashanti and Eastern opened up to him and made it possible for him to win the elctions. However after he won the appointments in his govt confirmed what many were afraid of.

Almost all his ministers were mostly Akans of which many were said to be his Prenpeh College mates. Then some of his ministers and NPP radio commenters became openly arrogant and rude. They talked and insulted ppl at will sometimes making derogatory comments about entire tribes.

The NDC excellently managed to tag KU4's govt as a govt of arrogant brats which Nana unfortunately inherited no fault of his. Then came the yen Akanfuor comment plus kill Gas & Ewes from Ken Agyepong just messed Nana's chances up badly.

So you see, there were many factors that affected Nana's chances but the biggest of all was that Nana was not able to attrack enough voters outside of NPP's strong holds of Ashanti and Eastern to win majority votes.

Thats should be the next step of the NPP, how to attract voters from NON NPP strongholds.

That is exactly the truth Peter touch. Akufo Addo was unfortunate to have inherited a party which was tacked as an akan party because of the way kufuor went about his appointment. Kufour didn't also help matters by causing some kind of factionalism in the party by introducing Allan K. These coupled with negative utterances by leading members of the NPP and the poor demeanor of Nana made it easy for the NDC propaganda to flourish hence causing the defeat of the NPP. For now the NPP has to work extra hard by getting intelligent, dedicated, humble, and strategic leaders in to run the party. Misguided statements that tends to denigrate other minority tribes should also be avoided by such leaders. Last but not the least a presidential candidate needs to be appointed outside the usual akan tribe and that person should be strategic, intelligent, appealing to floating voters, doesn't belong to any faction and non corrupt. That is where Bawumia and Prof Frimpong Boateng come in. With these and proper planning, I bet you NPP will win the next election hands down and Ghana will see massive transformation within the shortest possible time.

Ghanaians should be worried about the greed and property-acquisition spree embarked upon by the Kufuor family since John Agyekum Kufuor became the President of the Republic of Ghana.

The President J.A. Kufuor himself has acquired the one-storey house in between his HIPC Junction house and Hotel Kufuor. The house used to belong to a Lebanese lady and the President paid US$400,000.00 for it.

In addition to this property, he made his son front for him in the acquisition of the controversial “Hotel Kufuor”, which is presently valued at over US$8 million. Till his father came to power, this “chief Kuffour” as he is sometimes called, was like any ordinary struggling Ghanaian accountant.

Kwame Addo Kufuor, the President’s brother and Minister of Defence, had the road leading to his East Legon house tarred for him by the Ghanaian tax payer as soon as the NPP came into power. Three months later, he sold that house which had appreciated in value due to the asphalting and bought a plush residential complex located at East Cantonments. That house is currently valued at US$1.1million.

Mr. Edward A. Kufuor, alleged son of the President has purchased Property No. 8643 Bill Street, New Orleans, LA 70127, USA valued at about US$2.5 million. It is believed that this so-called son is fronting again for another high-profile member of the family.

Kuffuor's son who recently graduated from Harvard university cost of tuition was over 500,000 dollars.

House no.2378 doyles drive in an afluent neighborhood in upstate new york valued at 3.5 million dollars with twelve bedrooms was purchased by chief kuffuor's wife son of president kuffuor.

Another office complex was purchased in the central bussiness district of london by kuffuor's daughter Nana Ama kuffuor valued at 5 million pounds.

Two Sundays ago, when the NPP spent over 10 billion cedis busing people (half of them NDC supporters who went just because of the money) to Kasoa, lots of rubbish was spewed on the platform but as usual; a large section of the Ghanaian media closed its ears to the plethora of rubbish that was spewed.

Whiles certificateless Jake Obetsebi Lamptey was lying about Akufo-Addo not having tasted alcohol his whole life, having never smoked his whole life, as well as Akufo-Addo and Rebecca Akufo-Addo having five daughters when indeed, they have no issue between the two of them, Akufo-Addo was lying that in the unlikely event that he becomes president of Kwame Nkrumah’s Ghana, he will build a university in all the 10 regions. Such baloney!!!

If even Akufo-Addo is given 8 years, he CANNOT build 10 universities.

Professor Mills has spoken realistically about how he will add two universities to the existing five public ones; one in the Volta Region to deal with Health and Allied Sciences, and another in the Brong Ahafo Region, to deal with Renewable Natural Resources.

That is how realistic the learned Professor is; he is not in the business of mounting political platforms and insulting the intelligence of the electorate by making senseless promises.

As is the stock-in-trade of the NPP, Akufo-Addo mounted the platform and opened his mouth wide, not knowing what he was saying.

Akufo-Addo did nothing but lie to Ghanaians and come December, he will pay for his lies.

As for John 50 cents Kufuor, we believe he was so “toasted” on his favourite chevas regal whisky, hence the loads of Bush-like baloney that fell from his lips.

According to John 50 cents Kufuor, it would be a “curse” for the NDC to return to power.

Yes, as far as John 50 cents Kufuor is concerned, he is a blessing to Ghana, and the NDC will be a curse.

Amidst a bunch of headless and destructive elephants, John 50 cents Kufuor thinks that he is the best thing that has happened to Ghana.

I ask; what is more of a curse than having a president who butchers the English language and talks a slot of sh*t?

I ask; what is more of a curse than having a president who constantly has his head in between the thighs of his slutty concubines?

I ask; what is more of a curse than having a president who has his lips constantly glued to a whisky glass?

What is more of a curse than having a president who debases himself to the extent that BBC can liken him to a U.S rap artist known as 50 cents?

If I want to ask more questions about how much of a disgraceful and burdensome curse John 50 cents Kufuor has been on this nation, we will never end.

And it is this disgraceful character, who dares say that a government of, the very much respected learned Professor John Evans Atta Mills, will be a curse on Ghanaians?

Secondly, he did not do enough to motivate his base. Kumasi airport is an eyesore. In fact he did not do better than Rawlings in providing infrastructure for the people in the Ashanti region. In the run up to the 2008 elections, I knew the turn out was going to be low. Kufour and his NPP were not politically smart.

kufuour imported the arm robbers from your village to harass ghanaians? i think kuffuour introduce real freedom, like it is found in many civilised countries countries to ghana so that people cannot be thrown into jail without due processes. unfortunately the jss ghanaians who are block headed don't understand this and still don't. they are delusional like rawling who introduced it so that even if people lie to them it has no effect on their thinking; if people steal public money it is fine with them, after all it is everybody's money. these low thinkers are the people who are peopling ghana now and a great amount of them constitute the ndc. the rule like gangsters and will readily apply jungle laws to achieve their goals. if you don't see this in this administration then you are definitely one of them. did you ever hear in kufuour's time of party members anywhere in the country ransacking offices, seizing toilets, taking over tolls at bridges and markets and the government just remain helpless without taking any legal actions? did you hear government officials talking on the air to defend crooks such as wayome? the entire ghana has now become a failed state.

"Accra-Tema commuter railway line was constructed, and the Keta Sea Defence wall was built to protect the people of Keta." The Kufuor administration REHABILITATED the Accra-Tema railway. They did not "construct" it. They also COMPLETED tha Keta sea defense project started in the 1990s. Be OBJECTIVE then you will find the real cause of the defeats.

The trouble with Okatakyie is that he almost always lets himself down by being so blinketly biased in his assessments. His reverence of president Kufuor though admirable, his adulation of him and his government's achievements always goes way above exaggeration!!!

What I personally find disturbing when some people (from both political parties) seek to analyse the own side's stewardship is the complete 'disconnection' between the achievements of the immediate previous occupiers of the seat of government and their own. They give you the impression all things were started from scratch, or that the previous lot simply did nothing good. This is equally true of propagandists in the NDC party.

Okatakyie's lack of objectivity can be likened to Okoampa's except in its tone and the level of bigotry.

His credit for the advancements in early education are also exaggerated as these were started in the late 1990s with a lot of external donor support, even the school feeding programme which was poorly organised and managed and from which certain individuals profited unfairly and many schools became disenfranchised.

As to his assertion that the Flag staff was "built" to "house the president and his family" is grossly misleading in many respects. First, the Flag Staff House was already there and was not a new 'invention' except that extra facilities were built which now operate as 'Government House', NOT for the "president and his family". Surely these projects were discussed in government and parliament and approved prior to their execution and much as one can give credit to a government for overseeing the successful implementation and completionm of a project, it is wrong to ignore others in the process.

It is for those reasons that Kufuor appeared upset at being "ignored" or oustaged by the Mahama administration when the Bui Dam project which his government continued and oversaw its realisation (a project which was muted by the Osagyefo Dr Nkrumah decades earlier, and for which president Rawlings has to take some of the credit) he felt he had been left out of. It was nice to see him featured prominently during its official OPENING (which is not the same as commissioning) in November 2013.

I also believe a lot of credit has to go to president Rawling's government for the Tetteh Quarshie and Accra-Tema motorway projects (which were completed under Kufuor) and credit given to Kufuor's government for the Tetteh Quarshie Madina Road projects which have been continued by the Atta Mills-Mahama government.

What we all wish to see is continuity, mutual regard and cooperative government work irrespective of political / party differences and it is rather insulting for people to take the kind of posture that the likes of Okatakyie (and his ilk in both NDC and NPP) tend to want to take. It treats politics, governance and national development issues like the way bigoted football fans treat their teams and can never see anything good in their opponents to make them RESPECT them, APPRECIATE them and VALUE them not as enemies but as RIVALS vying for the same thing - SUCCESS!!!

The only reason why the NPP remain in opposition is their unpatriotic character.Listening to most communicators from the blue elephant family,they wish the country hell till thy kingdom come.They are so unpatriotic that,they see nothing good in the country.Instead of using appropriate channels to dialogue the government to set the country on smooth sail,they sabotage.They throw caution in the air and scare potential investors from the country,these unpatriotic people will use their associates in the media to darken the image of our beloved country.When all fails,they will turn against themselves in the only way elephants know best,total stampede,belt the shit out of the ground and its accompanying trees.Fact is this blue colored elephant is cloned and is disoriented in the natural habitat.In this days and age,the type of politics exhibited by the party in general is out dated and crude.The Party needs to reform and find ways to dialogue the ruling government for the national interest.Ghanaians will accept the NPP only when they accept everyone as equals and bury their half baked suit wearing mentality.NDC plays smart politics,they wear what the ordinary man wears,shows down to earth attitude and also speaks to the understanding of the voter.

Then, president aspirant Mr. Kufour promised to stop the perpetuation of that heinous crime when elected president.
what did we all witnessed here in Ghana? Lo and behold, after clinching victory in 2001, an unknown person came out boldly to say he was responsible the serial killing of those women. Was he demented to come and confessed a crime punishable by death?
What was his motivation for coming out to confess to such a crime and why come out after so shortly a time in change of governance of this noble nation?
Ghanaian are basically peace loving but NOT FOOLS, please. Kufour's administration was definitely a factor in my party loosing the 2008/2012 election and HOPEFULLY 2016 unless, and l repeat it again, unless he comes and apologise for the insult to the intelligence and folly of humble but very wise ghanaians, thanks.

How on this earth could a sitting president abandoned his vice-president and go on to sponsor another person of his tribal line for the presidency, and you think peace shall reign in that party. We say hell no! Kufuor, indeed did diservice to NPP by his sponsorship of Alan for the presidency.Kufuor's eventual backing of Nana was lukewarm and faint-hearted, that is,the gist of the matter. The factionalism caused by Kufuor's ethnocentric policies was the main cause of NPP's defeat, period!

There were three major issues that stood up like sore thumbs against Kufuor's administration: 1) The re-appointment of Dr Anane. 2)The creation of national awards, giving one to Atta-Mills and leaving out Nana. That was real "political stupidity!", and 3) Wereko-Brobby's bungling of Ghana at 50!

Those were three issues that were so fresh in the minds of Ghanaians as they went to the polls.

As far as Nana's campaign was concerned, his handlers were just hopeless. The allegations of Nana's drug taking were absolute nonesense, but somehow his handlers could not dispel that rubbish allegation.

Secondly, the whole NPP communication system was and still completely useless. Why could they not take these 'impressive achievements' to the electorate?

Unless the party can reach the ordinary people of Ghana, 2016 will be no different!

Kufour's projects lacked that self-evident connection to each other that would have carved a public image of him as deep minded leader. In fact he came across as a narrow minded leader compared to President Mills. Mills projects were self-evidently and purposefully connected to each other and non-discriminatory. And you know the effect of that on the minds of voters with brains in their head participating in a political contest. Who they would go for is obvious. When Kufour sensed that NPP was about to lose power, he started going round saying 'sorry' and begging Ghanaians. Why do you think he did that? If NPP were doing a serious self-assessment, that should have been the first question they should ask of themselves?
